2 FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT Saint Paul gives us a wakeup call. As stewards of the light of Christ, we are to reflect that light with the help of the Holy Spirit. If Christ s work has transformed and illuminated our lives, there should be a change. The light of Christ s active presence should be at work in us. And as the light shines within us, we take on the properties of that light and we shine too. We are used by God to shine the light of Christ in the lives of others. A challenging Lenten reflection: Is the light of Christ shining in our hearts? Is the light of Christ reflecting out from us to others? CCD CLASSES St. Anthony: Classes begin with Stations of the Cross at 6:40 p.m. for those who do not attend St. Lawrence. St. Lawrence: Confirmation Mass at 7:00 p.m. LENTEN PENANCE SERVICES St. Lawrence: Sunday, March 26, 4:00 p.m. St. Anthony: Thursday, March 30, 7:00 p.m. COMMUNION MINISTERS NEEDED St. Anthony parish is in need of additional communion ministers. Please prayerfully consider helping with the ministry needs of the church. CONFIRMATION Confirmation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29 at 7:00 pm with a cake and punch reception following the Mass in the Community Center. All St. Lawrence CCD students along with parents, grades 1-11 are asked to attend the Mass CCD class that evening. CATHOLIC RELEIF SERVICES COLLECTION This week, we are taking up The Catholic Relief Services Collection to respond to Jesus in disguise. This collection helps eight Catholic agencies to provide relief and support to struggling communities and to work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection. Also thank you to all the friends and family for the kind words and expressions of sympathy after Albert s passing. A special Thank You to Fr. The Albert Plassmeyer family PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS St. Lawrence parish welcomes Rita Buschjost & Taylor Helton as the new members of the parish council. The parish would like to thank Alice Oligschlaeger & Stan Struemph for their dedication to the parish council. ST. LAWRENCE CEMETERY COMMITTEE The St. Lawrence Parish Council recently reformed the Cemetery Committee. The members are Vic Wilde, Leon Buschjost, Kenneth Oligschlaeger. The finance council representative is Syl Kesel and the parish council representative is Taylor Helton. We would like to thank Doug Holtmeyer & Al Luetkemeyer for their assistance with the Cemetery Committee. ST. ANTHONY PARISH SPRING FESTIVAL Raffle Donations: St. Anthony Parish Council is taking raffle prize donations for the Spring Supper. Donations can be mailed or dropped off to Mary Schulte no later than March 25th. Food Donations: The Food Committee is accepting donations for the spring supper. If you would rather have your pies purchased instead of baking them, please put $20 in a marked envelope PIES and put in the church collection basket on Sunday. Donations are due by April 24. In order to have enough pie for all of our customers, it is very important that each family either bake or donate 3 pies.

PARISH EVENTS COMMUNITY NEWS HELPING HANDS The Thrift Store will be open Monday March 27th beginning at 1 p.m. - 7 p.m it is also Food Pantry Day and we will need volunteers in the Food Pantry beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Thrift Stores is open most Mondays and every Thursday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. GRASS MOWING BIDS St. Anthony Park is taking bids for grass cutting, deadline is 4/1/17 Contact Clinton ST. ELIZABETH FIRE DEPARTMENT Is now accepting sealed grass bids for the 2017 cutting season. Please bid per cutting and submit bid to St. Elizabeth Fire Department PO Box 125, St. Elizabeth MO before April 13th note on envelope grass bid. Person awarded the bid will have to provide insurance. They will be opened at the April 17th meeting.
