2 March 11th: Fourth Sunday of Lent FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, Maybe I should be more careful about using the visual illustrations ( magic with a message ) during the Family Mass homilies. Last Sunday, after giving such a homily at the 11:00 am Mass, I went back to the rectory to hear the following message on the telephone answering machine: I ve been asked to be a godfather at a relative s baptism, and the church gave me a form I need signed to show I belong to St. Raphael s. On Sundays, my family and I go to the 12:30 Spanish show. Show? The local Community Board (District 2) has requested the use of our Michael Brennan Hall this coming Thursday, March 15th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, for what is being called a Van Dam Community Conversation. The topic will be the use of the Fairfield Inn on Van Dam Street as a transitional housing facility for homeless families come April. If you live in the District, you are a constituent entitled to attend, but, due to limited seating capacity, you need to contact the Community Board to RSVP in the proper way.
