2 May 22nd: The Most Holy Trinity FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, First, congratulations to all the boys and girls making their First Holy Communion here today, and welcome to their family and friends who join them for this milestone moment in their life of faith. We ll list their names (with a picture or two) in next Sunday s bulletin. Second, we congratulate the young women and men from St. Raphael s who received the sacrament of Confirmation this past Friday in a joint ceremony with and at Queen of Angels parish, with Bishop Di Marzio officiating. We ll also list them by name in the next bulletin. Also, thanks to Father Dowd, Queen of Angels pastor, for his hospitality in hosting the celebration. Third, a special event took place for three of our Spanish-language parishioners this past Thursday. They were among 66 persons formally commissioned as Lay Pastoral Leaders assigned for voluntary service at St. Raphael s. For the past three years, they have prepared, through weekly classes and workshops and retreats sponsored by the School of Evangelization / Pastoral Institute of our Diocese of Brooklyn, to coordinate specific ministries and projects in our parish. We congratulate Bogar Casiano, Paul Casiano and Maria de los Angeles Magdaleno de Casiano on this achievement, and we pledge our support and encouragement as they live out this calling in our midst. We praise God for the increase (First Communicants and Newly Confirmed) and for the ongoing collaboration of our new Pastoral Ministers. Much to be happy about this Trinity Sunday in St. Raphael s! - Father Jerry Jecewiz SECOND COLLECTION TODAY This collection, after Communion, supports Catholic Relief Services. Pope Francis reminds us Jesus identified with our poorest brothers and sisters. This collection aids victims of human trafficking, those who suffer from unjust laws, and those who need humanitarian assistance across the globe. Lending a hand, you help Jesus in disguise.
