St Daniel the Prophet Parishioners Deceased Know Someone Who Needs Prayers There are many times in our lives when we come across someone who could use extra prayers especially in these difficult times. As Catholics we know that the most perfect prayer is the Mass and no other prayer that we say would benefit them as much. Consider having a Mass said for your loved ones, living or deceased. Simply come to the office to pick from many available dates and Mass times. There is a suggested donation of $10 for each Mass intention that you request Mass Book is now open. 5 Celebrate Life Ministry All parishioners are kindly invited to join us as we pray for the unborn, the ones that cannot speak for themselves. We pray for them and their mothers, that the unborn will be spared and the mothers will have a change of heart. Our next Prayer Vigil is Saturday, January 21, 8:00AM at Planned Parenthood, 1250 E Apache Blvd., Tempe, (Apache Blvd and Dorsey), Pray the rosary led by our parish priests. 6 Prayer for the Unborn Child Almighty God, our Father, you who have given us life and intended us to have it forever, grant us your blessings. Enlighten our minds to an awareness and to a renewed conviction that all human life is sacred because it is created in your image and likeness. Help us to teach by word and the example of our lives that life occupies the first place, that human life is precious because it is the gift of God whose love is infinite. Give us the strength to defend human life against every influence or action that threatens or weakens it, as well as the strength to make every life more human in all its aspects. Give us the grace... When the sacredness of life before birth is attacked, to stand up and proclaim that no one ever has the authority to destroy unborn life. When a child is described as a burden or is looked upon only as a means to satisfy an emotional need, to stand up and insist that every child is a unique and unrepeatable gift of God, a gift of God with a right to a loving and united family. When the institution of marriage is abandoned to human selfishness or reduced to a temporary conditional arrangement that can easily be terminated, to stand up and affirm the indissolubility of the marriage bond. Teen Group Bible Study If you re involved in Catholic education or youth ministry, you know the response you sometimes get when you bring up the Bible: your teens roll their eyes and yawn. So how do we introduce them to the written Word of God? Mark Hart makes the Bible come alive for Catholic teens by unpacking God s Word in a way they can relate to and understand. T3 teaches teens the Bible by following the fascinating story of Scripture and showing them the big picture of salvation history. Your teens will come to see the Bible as a relevant part of their lives. Join us for Teen Timeline at St. Daniel the Prophet Parish in the North Annex beginning January 30, 2017 at 6:00 pm and continuing every Monday evening. A workbook is available for $15. All teens are invited. Prayer to Saint Agnes St. Agnes, although you were only a child, you believed that Jesus was always with you; help us to remember that he is also with us, and to remain true to his presence. St. Agnes, you refused to give up your faith; help us to be proud of our faith, to love it, to be strong in it, and to give witness to it daily. St. Agnes, patron saint of children, watch over the children of the world; keep them safe from harm; be with them in their hour of need; and always pray for them.
