It will include a specially composed version of Psalm 150. Please bring bells or shakers with you. There will be a simple rehearsal before the Eucharist begins.

4 Waterlooville Arts Trail During June you ll see lots of pictures displayed in various businesses around Waterlooville. The paintings around the Church are by children from Queen s Inclosure Primary School. Coffee and Cakes Two local businesses are organising this coffee morning on Thursday June 23 rd polling day. Co-Operative Funeral Care and Edward s Funeral Directors have jointly offered to organise the event and to raise money for St. George s Church. Coffee will be served in the Church garden or if wet, at the back of the Church. St. George s Market will not be open that day. Please come and support this even if you re not voting in the Hall. George s Men Two new dates have been arranged for George's Men over the summer. They are Tuesday June 28th - try your hand at bowls and Friday July 22nd - come and play trains on Tony Shepherd's new garden layout. These are in addition to those already in the programme - Wednesday July 6th and Tuesday August 2 nd. Bp. Godfrey Ashby has written to thank St. George s Church for the card sent on his 60 th Anniversary of Ordination. It s on the notice board. All the Best to Adrienne Bridger as she leaves for Canada on Thursday week where Adrienne s grandson, Phil, is getting married to Joy. You may recall that Phil has been in our prayers as he works as a missionary in some very dangerous places in the world. Baptism Visitors Each time there s a Baptism in Church most Sundays at 11.30am, a member of the congregation has already been to meet the family and then is around to welcome them when they arrive. The team of visitors is stretched, especially through the summer, and a few more members are needed. If you would like to find out more about becoming a Baptism Visitor, please see Fr. Mike. Mothers Union The MU meeting on 23rd June [Election Day] will take place at the home of Janet Johnson, 10 Upper Bere Wood, off Stakes Hill Road, at 2: 15pm. Please bring an item, possibly from Families First, for discussion. A Survey regarding Families First and Families Worldwide[ as requested by Mary Sumner House] will take place at 144 Stakes Hill Road, on Monday 2oth June at 2:15pm. Please try to come. 5 This annual Festival began yesterday. It s an opportunity for residents of Waterlooville to hear good quality music and to come inside the Church may be for the first time. Eucharists The Eucharists are at the normal times on both Sundays and on the Wednesday. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday there will be a said Eucharist at 9.00am. This is an opportunity for quiet prayer before the very busy day begins. These services will be in the Lady Chapel. Open Piano On Tuesday, from 1.30pm, you are welcome to come and play the Church piano. There s no need to book just turn up and be ready to play! Seating In order that the pews are not scraped across the Church floor or carried around too many times, they are being moved to the sides of the Church on Friday morning this week. This means that for the next two Sundays chairs will be used instead, although a couple of pews will remain in place. Do not fear there is no plan whatever to remove the pews permanently and they will be put back on the Monday after the Festival. This action is a health and safety consideration for the team of people who move the pews around. Stalls Throughout the Festival Week there will be stalls in Church selling Traidcraft food, cards and crafts, jars of chutneys and sweets, good quality books and WMF merchandise. You can also spend time looking at the children s paintings from Queen s Inclosure Primary School. Refreshments Don t forget that refreshments will be served in Church every day throughout the Music Festival starting on the Monday. Breakfasts coffee and lunches will be available and on most evenings a bar will be open before and during the concerts. On the Thursday morning St. George s Market will be open in the Church Hall. Please do not bring your own alcohol to performances in Church as the bar licence forbids this.

6 Performances Every day there are morning, lunchtime and afternoon concerts to which you are very welcome they re free! The evening concerts need tickets for admission and these will be available on the door. Please note that the performances on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings are now sold out. Last Night of the Proms Please note a change from previous years. Chairs will be provided in the Church and ticket holders are being asked not to bring their own chairs this year. You are still welcome to bring a picnic and the bar will be open from 6.00pm. 1st Horndean Scout Group are raising funds to support Explorer Scouts going to Switzerland for two weeks in August with a horse-racing evening on the 25th June in St. George s Church Hall. Start time is and tickets cost 5 which includes a light supper. There will also be a licensed bar on site. There is also an opportunity to sponsor a horse ( 5), or a race ( 25). Please see Daniel or David Palmer for further info/tickets. Thanks to Marian and Barry Haughton for opening their garden last Sunday afternoon. It was an excellent occasion, with cream teas being served in the bright sunshine and Barry s Triumph Spitfire car on show. You ll be pleased to know that 217 was raised for Church funds. Retiring Collection Thank you for your generosity, 448 has been sent to Christian Aid. Horndean Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) will be performing three one-act comedies "Barbecue", "The Real Long John Silver" and "What's For Pudding?" on Thursday 30th June and Friday 1st July,, at Merchiston Hall in Horndean. Please see Iain Renfrew or Sonja Barrand (both of whom are making their directorial debuts) for more details. 100 Club - Congratulations to our June winners, Priscilla Barlow and Rachael Palmer.
