Peter & Paul/Assumption Churches are continuing to collect food items to be donated to the Mt. Carmel Area Food Bank. Please continue to donate to the less fortunate in our community. Thank you to everyone who has and continues to donate to this worthy cause. Ukrainian Seminary Day: The 81 st Annual Ukrainian Seminary Day will be held Sunday, July 26 th at St. Nicholas Church Picnic Grounds in Primrose (just outside of Minersville, PA) This annual event is sponsored by the 12 parishes and faithful of the South Anthracite Deanery under the leadership of their respective pastors. Plans for the day already include a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, delicious ethnic and regional foods prepared by the parishes of the deanery, a concert and dance performance by the Kazka Ukrainian Folk Ensemble, pysanky demonstrations and classes for the youth, polka music by the fabulous John Stevens Doubleshot Orchestra, a theme basket auction, many vendors selling traditional Ukrainian and Eastern European items and exciting games for the kids. We invite everyone from near and far to attend and support this annual event in support of our St. Josaphat Seminary in Washington DC. Again, we encourage the participation and input from the faithful of all our parishes. Please plan to attend and get involved. Your participation is greatly desired and appreciated! Ukrainian Day Raffle Tickets: Raffle Tickets for the big drawing at Ukrainian Day are available in the vestibule of the church or in the parish office. Tickets sell for $1.00 each or a book of 6 for $5.00. It would be wonderful if every member in our parish would purchase at least one book of tickets for the success of this event. Casino Bus Trip: Assumption of the B.V.M. Church, Centralia will be running a bus trip to Mohegan Sun on Tuesday, August 4, The cost is $22.00 and you receive $25.00 dollars back in free play and $5.00 in any food court/restaurant. The bus will be leaving at 9:00 AM and returning home at 5:00 PM. Pick-ups will begin at 9:00 AM in Shamokin, Kulpmont, Ss. Peter & Paul, Mt. Carmel, Ashland and Frackville. To reserve your seat for this trip payment in full is due as soon as possible by calling either Barbara Jurgill at or Charlotte Thomas at Positively No Refunds! The proceeds from this bus trip benefits the Assumption of the B.V.M. Church, Centralia. NYC Bus Trip: Ss. Peter & Paul Rosary Society are sponsoring a trip on December 1 st,2015 to see the Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Cost of the trip which includes show ticket and transportation is $98.00 Reservations may be made by contacting Jeanne Bergal at or Christine Bogner at Father s Day Breakfast: The women of our Altar Rosary Society will sponsor a special breakfast honoring all the men of our parish and families on Father s Day, June 21 st. Breakfast will be served between the hours of 9:00 AM and12:00 noon in our social hall. All men and their families are cordially invited to attend and enjoy a delicious breakfast in your honor.

3 Pyrohy for Sale: Ss. Peter & Paul/Assumption B.V.M. Churches have extra pyrohy for sale. Please see any pyrohy worker or call the office at during normal office hours if you wish to purchase pyrohy. Mystery (Sacrament) of Repentance Is available before each Divine Liturgy on Saturday, 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM and on Sunday in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM, and at Assumption BVM Church on Sunday before 11:00 AM Divine Liturgy in the confessionals. Deanery Youth Gathering: Our Annual Deanery Youth Gathering is scheduled for Sunday, July 12 th at Knoebels Grove beginning at 11:00 AM. All youth between 6 th grade and college age, including members of our parishes and their friends, are cordially invited to attend and participate. A memorable day is planned for all who attend! Our speakers for the day are Carm DeFrancesco, former head coach of Mt. Carmel area football and a motivational speaker, along with Dr. Barbara Yastishock Lutz who is also an educator and inspirational speaker. Dr. Lutz is an editor of the God With Us Catechism Series as well as an author of many publications and articles about living our faith in the modern world. The day is FREE OF CHARGE and includes food and drink throughout the day and ride tickets for all attractions at the park. Families are welcome to join us as well! Registration forms and more information are available from Fr. Michael. Registration is required to be completed by July 5 th. This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth and families to come together and share a community spirit with the youth of the other parishes throughout our deanery. World Meeting of Families Philadelphia 2015 Registration Open: Mark your family calendar for the 8 th World Meeting of Families. Annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration: Sunday, September 13, 2015 Annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration will be held at the Golden-Domed Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Philadelphia, PA at 11:00 AM. Divine Liturgy followed by a banquet for the couples attending. Safeguarding the Dignity of Every Human Person: Catechetical Sunday with commissioning of catechists in the parish will be held Saturday & Sunday, September 19 th & 20 th.
