Be Happy With What You Have Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, remember the homeless family without beds to sleep in. Should you find yourself frustrated, stuck in traffic, don t despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege. Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years. Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it is like to love and be loved in return. Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day seven days a week to feed her children. Should your car break down, leaving you miles from any assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take a walk. Should you notice a few gray hairs in the mirror, think of the cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine. Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what life is all about, asking what is my purpose, be thankful. There are those who didn t live long enough to get the opportunity. Should you find yourself the victim of other people s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember, things could be worse. You could be them!

Volunteers are needed at noon on Monday, September 21 st. World Meeting of Families THE WORLD MEETING OF FAMI- LIES (WMOF) was conceived by Saint John Paul II in 1992 to look at strengthening the sacred bonds of the family unit across the globe. The first WMOF took place in Rome in 1994, the International year of the family. Every three years since 1994, families from all over the world are invited by the holy Father to attend this global event. At the conference, families share their thoughts, dialogue and prayers, working together to grow as individuals and family units. Families can participate in discussion groups on the Christian family s role in the Church and society, led by distinguished speakers. As Ukrainian Catholics we have a unique opportunity not only to share in this historic celebration in Philadelphia, but to share our own particular spiritual gifts within our families and with the world. 5 - 5 - Ukrainian Folk Group to Perform in Scranton St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Parish of Scranton is proud to announce the appearance of the Korinya Ukrainian Folk Band which will be joined by several members of the Kazka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble on Sunday, September 20, 2015 beginning at 3:00pm at St. Vladimir Parish Center, 428 North Seventh Avenue. In addition, their performance at the 2012 Boyko Festival in Ukraine resulted in their being awarded first place. Kazka with headquarters in Sugarloaf PA is a well-known Ukrainian folk dance group having performed in Ukraine and throughout the North Anthracite region including the Anthracite Heritage Museum at McDade Park, Scranton; the annual Ukrainian Seminary Day at Minersville/Primrose, PA; the Ukrainian Homestead Annual Folk Festival at Lehighton, PA; Patchtown Days at the Eckley Miners Village, Eckley, PA; and many other venues. During the 11:30 Divine Liturgy, Students and teachers will be blessed asking God s guidance in their studies. The theme of Catechetical Sunday is focused on Family: In the Image of God and the guidance God gives, as He gave to one family, the family of Noah. That family was not just returning after a summer vacation as many of us are. Their harrowing experience let them look forward to serving God in a better way.
