3 To all my sons and daughters in Christ! May the good God grant blessings to you and your family and we enter the new year of 2018 and close the season of Christmas with the celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord. The Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Savior of the world. The great feast of Epiphany celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (Magi) from the East, together with his baptism in the Jordan and the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee. In the Magi, representatives of the neighboring pagan religions, the Gospel sees the first-fruits of the nations, who welcome the good news of salvation through the Incarnation. The Magi's coming to Jerusalem in order to pay homage to the king of the Jews shows that they seek in Israel, in the messianic light of the star of David, the one who will be king of the nations. Their coming means that pagans can discover Jesus and worship him as the Son of God and Savior of the world only by turning towards the Jews and receiving from them the messianic promise as contained in the Old Testament. ANNOUNCEMENT OF EASTER AND THE MOVEABLE FEASTS FOR THE YEAR 2018 On the 14th day of February will fall Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of the fast of the most sacred Lenten season. On the 1st day of April, you will celebrate with joy Easter Day, the Paschal feast of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the 13th day of May will be the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the 20th of May, the feast of Pentecost. On the 2nd day of December, the First Sunday of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Epiphany shows that "the full number of the nations" now takes its "place in the family of the patriarchs, and is made worthy of the heritage of Israel. I encourage you to learn more about these realities by getting connected with FORMED.ORG a tremendous website full of videos, movies, documentaries and presentations on the powerful mysteries of our Faith. You can have access to everything that FORMED.ORG offers completely FREE! Just go to the website formed.org subscribe. When it asks for the Parish Code, enter MB7WQG. From there you will have access to everything FORMED.ORG offers and can use it on your computer, at home and on your phone. I love you all like Jesus! Fr. Eric On the 3rd day of June, the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. LITURGICAL MINISTERS TRAINING DAYS With the start of a new year, Fr.
