Preach Meditation 10:00 am - HOLY MASS in honor of Our Lady of Fatima : Movie shown in the Kolbe Room 3:00 P.M. - Sing Chaplet of Divine Mercy (completes the Novena) 3:30 P.M. - Brief Meditation & Litany of Divine Mercy 4:00 P.M. - Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament Mass ends with a Eucharistic Procession around the church. * There will be snacks and drinks in the Gathering Room. * Children will be able to use the Gathering Room to relax. We will return to the church and pray the Holy Rosary. The Rosary ends with the Consecration of the Parish and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.

Please remember them in your prayers and be generous in your giving next weekend. Thank you. SACRAMENTAL CELEBRATIONS Baptism - Contact the Parish Office to make arrangements. A class may be required prior to baptism. Sacrament of Matrimony - Arrangements must be made with the Parish Priest six (6) months prior to anticipated date of wedding. Care of the Sick - Communion will be brought to the homebound and the sick who are confined to their homes each week. For new additions to the Communion List, please call the Parish Office by Wednesday noon. Sacrament of the Sick - Will be administered to all of those seriously ill, those about to have major surgery, and any of the elderly of the Parish requesting it. Call the Parish Office to arrange. Parish Registration - New parishioners are welcome and are asked to register at the Parish Office, or download the form on our website to complete. Reconciliation - Confessions are heard every Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., thirty minutes prior to each Mass on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Sunday.

6 Understanding What We Say and Do at Mass (excerpts from A Biblical Walk Through the Mass by Edward Sri) The Gloria - A Story in Three Acts Gloria, in a sense, tells a story - the story of Christ. Like a three act play, the Gloria sums up the story of Christ s saving work moving from: His coming, His redeeming death, and His triumphant resurrection and ascension into Heaven. In the first act, Jesus is addressed as Son of the Father and the Only Begotten Son, which recalls various New Testament texts that point to Jesus divine Sonship. When we address Jesus as the only begotten Son in the Gloria, we recognize Him not merely as a teacher, messenger, or prophet sent from God. We use rich theological language of St. John and join him in praising Jesus as the divine Son, the eternal word, who was made flesh and dwelt among us. The Lamb and the King In the second act, the Gloria s reference to Jesus as the Lamb of God moves the story forward to Christ s redemptive mission. It recalls the theme of the Lamb s triumph over sin and the devil in the book of Revelation and the worship of the Lamb by the angels and saints in heaven. By addressing Jesus with this title in the Gloria, we thus join the heavenly worship of the Lamb as revealed in the book of Revelation. The Gloria also addresses Jesus saying, Lamb of God...you take away the sins of the world. In this line, we repeat the prophetic worlds of John the Baptist when he first saw Jesus passing by in John s gospel. These words revealed Jesus as the new Passover Lamb, who offers up his life on the cross for our sins. Just as the lamb was sacrificed on that first Passover night in Egypt in order to spare Israel from death, so Jesus is the new Passover lamb who is sacrificed on Calvary in order to save humanity from the curse of death caused by sin. Finally, in the third act, the Gloria reverently leads us to praise Jesus in the unique position of authority he now possesses in heaven: You are seated at the right hand of the Father. In the Bible, the right hand is the position of authority. In the Gloria, we bear witness to: Christ s reign over heaven and earth; His kingdom, which will have no end; And humbly ask him to receive our prayer and have mercy on us. Jesus mission is summed up in the Gloria: The Son s Incarnation; His paschal mystery; His enthronement in heaven; We move to praising Jesus as the Only Begotten Son to Worshiping Him as the Lamb of God to Praising his triumph over sin and death.
