PRAYER FOR SYRIA A PRAYER FOR PEACE IN SYRIA The U.K. branch of e papal foundation Aid to e Church in Need has published e text of a prayer for peace in Syria composed by e Melkite Greek Caolic Patriarch Gregorios II of Damascus, Syria. It would be a great act of charity to pray is prayer for all who suffer to dearly in at part of our world. Lord Jesus Christ, who appeared to Paul your apostle in e sky above Damascus, and who appeared to Ananias in his house, just as you gave em your love, power and peace, so we ask you, at eir intercession, to save Syria from every evil. We beseech you, rough e intercession of your Moer, Mary ever-virgin, to whom you never refused grace, to give us and your broers and sisters in Syria e ability to help bring peace to is land, which you made e starting point of your light and love to e whole world. May it become once more a land of peace, love, fellowship and stability and be a beacon to e entire world. Mary, Moer of God, pray for Syria. Saint Paul, pray for all Christians in e Middle East. 5 PRESENT FINANCE COUNCIL COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 26, 2015 Fr. Mayo, Pastor; Patty McIntyre, Chair; Mike Waddell; Gary Haven (Dinner Host); Dave McDermott, Andrea Baffaro; Jay Johnson and Erick Dennis, Scribe. PRELIMINARY The January meeting began at 6:30 p.m. wi Pizza & Salad dinner provided by Gary Haven. JANUARY MINUTES Dave moved to accept e January minutes, Gary seconded, unanimous favor. FINANCIALS Gary brought e Council up to speed wi regards to e transition process. The transition will likely include an estate sale to reduce e items currently at e church and provide some financial benefit. Patty noted at we still need to generate a fixed asset inventory list. An inquiry wi e bookkeeper and/or office manager will be made to determine if a list exists. OTHER Fr. Mayo sought Council input wi regards to computer password protocols. Mike will be putting guidance togeer and sending to Fr. Mayo for review. Council will conduct an e-vote to finalize. Fr. Mayo provided an update wi regards to e Italian Community Memorial Window. Patty requested volunteers to help wi e Lenten soup supper on March 11. Andrea and Patty will be representing e finance Council. Patty adjourned at 7:50pm. Next finance Council meeting will be held on March 26, 6:30p.m. Minutes provided by Erick Dennis The financial reports for January were approved by e Council as submitted by e Bookkeeper, Mary Petry. Patty began a discussion about forecasted/projected budget for 2016/2017. She en sought Fr. Mayo s opinion wi regards to addressing e parish wi regards to additional offertory. It was determined at wi e upcoming construction/renovation, ere is some hesitancy in seeking additional offertory. Patty sought e Council s input/opinion about making a request to e parish to increase offertory. Overall, it was decided to wait-andsee given e varying needs at will be arising. Fr. Mayo noted at Jerri will be working wi Mary on generating next year ( ) draft budget for review and discussion in April. It is likely at a majority of next year operations will be conducted off site requiring some ingenuity to develop a budget. BUILDING UPDATE Patty, Fr. Mayo and Erick brought e finance Council up to speed about e project / building projection. TRANSITION UPDATE Saint Michael e Archangel, protect our parish from all harm, watch over all its members and keep em under your protection from e evil one. Amen.
