5 Faer Ignatius Kissel, OSM GOLDEN JUBILEE OF ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD April 19, 2015 Faer Ignatius Kissel, OSM, was born in 1941 and raised and educated in Caolic schools in e Chicago, Illinois suburbs until In 1954, he entered e Servite Order Minor Seminary in St. Charles, Illinois from 1954 until In e summer of 1958, he entered e Service Noviciate at Riverside Seminary in Illinois. He made his Simple Profession of Vows in He en studied Theology and English at Our Lady of Riverside Priory in California and Loyola University in summer school from 1959 to He completed his eological studies at e Pontifical University Marianum in Rome, Italy, where he earned his Licentiate in Theology and was ordained at San Marcello Church in Rome on April 19, He served as Associate Pastor in Chicago, IL suburbs of Calumet Park, Blue Island and Hillside from 1965 until He attended St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, from 1971 to 1972 for spirituality courses. He became Assistant Novice Director and en Novice Director, Vocation Director and Associate Director for Formation in Detroit and Chicago. He became Director of Postulants in St. Louis in 1978 and en Pastor of Seven Holy Founders Church in MO. In 1984, he again became Director of Novices and was elected e Provincial of e Western Service Province in 1988 and served in at e Provincialate in Buena Park, California until Then he became Pastor of St. Philip Benizi Church in Fullerton, CA from 1996 tol 2004 when he was assigned to Portland, OR as part of e Staff of e Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Moer (e Grotto) for retreats, spiritual direction, pastoral supply, hospital ministry and pastoral counseling. For he last seven years, he has helped here at St. Michael e Archangel Parish on Sundays, for day off and medical priestly supply help and has been an encouraging presence here.
