Thankfully day light savings is only about a month away. We have quite a few great dinners this upcoming month and breakfasts too so be sure to check the calendar of upcoming events. During the meeting of February 12th, not only will be balloting on our new members, we ll also have our nomination of officers for next lodge year. Keep in mind, any member in good standing can be nominated. The meeting of February 26th is the election of officers, and initiation of those who were favorably balloted. It is also my distinct pleasure to announce those members receiving awards from the lodge for their dedication and volunteerism to the Lodge. Mind you, one of the largest challenges my fellow officers face is selecting only a few members out of all the volunteers we have in the Lodge. We wish we could provide an award for each of you. With this being stated, our Elk of the Year for the Lodge Year is Louise Beeghly and the Officer of the Year is Ken Mac- Murtry. Additionally the following two members will be receiving GER Special Commendation Award for outstanding members: Sherry Perleoni, and Jeannine Draghi. Finally, our Citizen of the Year award is being presented to David Poulin! Thank you all! Elk of the Month Jerome Jerry Looby Jerry (and his wife Barbara) recently came to the rescue of the breakfast committee supporting them when they were short-handed. Although they showed up to eat they did not hesitatye to roll up their sleeves and jumped right in. This alone is not why he is being awarded Elk of the Month as you can find him at the lodge many days assisting the secretary in sending out dues notices, etc. Fraternally, John Gilnack Exalted Ruler Mon. On Saturday February 15th we are having a Valentines Dinner for $15.00 per person. There is a limited amount of tickets being sold, tickets may NOT be available on the evening, so get yours early. Investigations will be February 11th, balloting at the meeting of the 12th, with initiation on the 26th. Golf Tournament Meeting Believe it or not, it s that time of year for us to begin the process of putting together the tournament. It is scheduled for September 15, 2014, which is only 8 short months away. Monthly meetings will begin on February 19th at the Lodge at approximately 6:30PM. In Tom s absence (our fearless leader is braving the winter in Florida), I d like to ask everyone and anyone interested in helping to attend this meeting. I would like to begin getting subcommittee s together, and the leader of those subcommittees. Initially our focus will be pounding the pavement for hole sponsors, price settings, etc. Flag Day Chairman Initiation February 26, 2014 Our next initiation will take place during our regularly scheduled meeting of February 26, If you are a sponsor of a candidate it is IM- PERATIVE you make yourself available for the full meeting as well. Dress for the candidates is a business casual, women would be comparable. Jeans will not be accepted. For $125 a year, you can have advertise your business here!
