Regarding our move, we will not be moving to the new Wynantskill location. There were items in the proposed Lease that our attorney felt was not in our best interests. Instead of sitting down and discussing our concerns, the Landlord pulled the Lease agreement. We are now looking for another location to move to. We will indeed keep the Membership abreast about our status. If you have any questions about this, please contact me at the Lodge. In closing, I wish you a blessed and peaceful Christmas season. For some reason, we don t have your date of birth. Thank you. SPECIAL PEOPLES PARTY On Sunday, Dec. 16 th we will be holding our annual Party for ARC Participants. This Party will be held from Noon until 4PM. This is one of the many Community Projects we sponsor. It is also one of the Highlights of the Holiday Season for both the Participants and our Volunteers!!! Help is also needed for this party to make sure it goes off without any problems Anyone interested in helping out please let PER Roz Panza know of your intentions for this worthy cause. Thank you for your assistance!!! $100 GRAND PRIZE DRAWING AND SILENT AUCTION We will again be holding our Grand Prize Drawing on Friday, Dec. 7 th at the Lodge. There are 12 Prizes to be awarded, with the top Prize being $10,000.00!!! The cost for these tickets are $100 each, with only 250 of them being sold Ticket Holders are invited to a free Buffett Dinner at the Lodge the night of the Drawing, with Guests costing $10 each. 3 SILENT AUCTION FOR CHARITY Our annual Silent Auction will be held on Friday, Dec. 7 th after the $100 Grand Prize Drawing. This event brings much needed funds into the Lodge to assist with our charitable deeds throughout the Community! We are in need of Donations to be auctioned off. Some samples are; Household items, Holiday decorations, candles, etc. All donations will be gladly accepted. They can be left at the Lodge any time to the attention of Roz Panza. Let s make this adventure a success and thank you in advance for your supporting us!!! MEMORIAL SERVICE SUNDAY 12/2/2018 The Lodge will be holding it s annual Memorial Service on Sunday at 2PM. This Service is mandated by Grand Lodge and will be preformed by the officers of the Lodge fulfilling the promise that Elks are never forgotten; Never forsaken Following the Ceremony, a Roast Beef Dinner will be served. Everyone is invited to attend and show your support for our absent Members and their Families. Any questions please call Roz Panza, PER and Chairman for this event! Garry Moore HOOP SHOOT CONTESTANTS NEEDED The Annuual Hoop Shoot Contest sponsored by the Troy Lodge will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5 th, Registration for the Shoot will begin at 5:30PM and the Contest will begin at 6:00PM. This event is open to all children between the ages of 5-13 years old. We are also in need of Volunteers to assist with scoring, ball retrieval and refereeing. All help will greatly be appreciated! If you have any questions, please call Janice Gordon, Chairman at COVERED DISH SUPPER PLANNED As in years past, this Dinner will be the event of our Christmas Party held within the Lounge. Music is planned for this event, also. The Event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 14 th, 2018 All attendees will be asked to provide a $5 Grab Bag gift to share with your fellow party-goers!!! There will be a sign-up sheet at the Bar for all those who wish to attend; or see Mary Beth!!! PUPPY WITH A PURPOSE PROGRAM As part of the Lodge s Gratitude Grant last July, the Lodge donated $ to the Puppy with a Purpose Program at the local Bell Top School I have stayed in touch with the teachers at the school and I thought I would give you an update. Auggie was purchased in the early summer and is in training to be a therapy dog. The school Social Worker has care of Auggie and brings him to school everyday. When Auggie goes into a classroom, you can hear the children s excited whispers! He is allowed to walk about the classroom and sniff out the students in his way of saying Hello. After he settles and lays down, lessons are taught on subjects concerning interaction among the students, ie: Respect, Bullying, Fairness, etc. Auggie is also used during small group counseling sessions to relax the students and help them work through their issues. Students with reading issues have been encouraged to read to Auggie; There is no criticism because Auggie just listens! Some of the students even write letters to Auggie; these concerns are serious to them and the social worker can respond to them. Auggie s involvement in the school has fostered good behavior among the students. There are specific rules when they are with Auggie; when they are good, they are rewarded time to spend with Auggie! This amazing animal even helps and attends after-school social events. He has become completely integrated into the Bell Top School Family!!! Patricia Underwood Grant Coordinator SUPERBOWL SUNDAY 2019 The Superbowl is not too far away, so we are now selling squares in our Football Pool for $100 a square. The Pool is about half-full right now, with paid squares and intentions of other Members and Guests. You can also get your square and remit your $100 when possible to PER Jeffrey A, Keegan, Coordinator at the Lodge Every Monday or Friday evening during the Holiday Season or you can call me with any questions at I must ask, however, that all squares be paid for by January the 20 th in order for us to make preparations for the gala event of the Superbowl Party the first Sunday in February, This Party has been enjoyed by all who participated in years past and will again be just as pleasurable and rememberable!!!
