A heartfelt thank you to all of you for volunteering your time and for your donation of gifts to make these events a success. The month began with the Memorial Service and was followed by the Lodge Decorating Party. Thank you to Jeannine Draghi for cleaning the Lodge and to the following members and others who participated in decorating the Lodge: Jason, Kelly and Daniel Granatek, Richard Sheehan, Bill Gasparini, Chris, Caroline and Rebecca Connors, Laura Fournier, Gina and Becca Wilder, Dawn Melo, Dave, Amy and Dylan Bassette, Anne Kehl, Barbara Looby, Daniel Tinter, June Tackus, Carol Surprenant, Vini Gordon, and Dave Poulin. A special thank you to Caroline Connors who chaired the Veteran s Christmas Dinner. Forty-one veterans from the Rocky Hill Veteran s Home attended. It was huge success again this year. The night began with opening comments by me, the pledge of allegiance, singing of the national anthem by Del Cyr and followed with a musical performance by Another Octave, a poem recital by Roland Vegiard and ended with Bingo games made possible by donations from our Lodge and individual Members. Thank you to Jory Pagliughi for donation of a 32 flat screen TV raffled off to a lucky Veteran. And last but not least the following volunteers who donated their time to volunteer and/or money to support Bingo: Don Cyr, Jason Granatek, Richard Sheehan, Bill Gasparini, Bob Scaglia, Chris Connors, Becca Connors, Tom Underwood, Gina Wilder, Steve Wilder, Bradley Wilder, Dawn Melo, Julianna Alfonso, Mark Curtin, John Gawlak, Scott McDonald, Andrew Fawt, Dan Vallier, Dan Tinter, and Hal Hansen. As always, the Camp Sunrise Children s Christmas Party was a huge success. Another special thank you goes to Jason and Kelly Granatek who chaired the event and well as for all the hard work they personally put into it. Dinner was served for over 100 guests who included the Camp Sunrise attendees and Mon. Thur. 4 PM 8 PM Friday 4 PM 10 PM Saturday Noon 9 PM Sunday Noon 7 PM Permittee: Ken Mac Murtry glastonburyelks.org their families. The children particularly enjoyed a visit from Santa Clause, Mrs. Clause and their Elf who arrived via firetruck since there was no snow for his sled. Thank you to the members who took the time to shop for and purchase gifts for the children. Your charity is very much appreciated. Thank you to the following individuals who volunteered their time for this event: Amy and Dave Bassette, Jory Pagliughi, Vini Gordon, Leon Lemay, Ron and Deb Lemire, Dan Vallier, Jim Sponzo, Mark and Janice Curtin, Joe and Linda Waggoner, Rich Sheehan, and Steve Wilder. The month ended with the Hoop Shoot on December 26 th. Ravioli Dinner Saturday, January 9, PM ELK OF THE MONTH Jory Pagliughi I m pleased to name Jory Pagliughi as Elk of the Month. He serves as a member of the House Committee and is a very active volunteer. He ensures donations to the fuel bank go to deserving individuals and is always there for anyone who needs help. After winning a 32 flat-screen TV at the golf tournament, he re-donated it as a raffle for the Veterans dinner. He made the day for one very deserving Veteran! Thanks for all that you do, Jory! Cindy Coville Exalted Ruler From the s Desk As we approach the end of the Lodge year, I wanted to let everyone dues notices will be sent out during the month of February for next Lodge year. Dues will remain the same at $ for regular members and $42.50 for life members. Speaking of Life Members, per our by-laws you must be at least 65 years of age, 30 years as a member, and the last 10 with Glastonbury Lodge. Please reach out to me at the earliest possible time to request if you meet the requirements. On Saturday January 9th, we will be having a Ravioli Dinner for $15 per person, and $5 for children 10 and under. Tickets will be available at the bar, and at the door!
