6 Hadi Membership Committee Fall Ceremonial is over and we brought in 16 new nobles! I want to thank everyone involved and especially those who brought in new nobles. Without you and increasing membership, our temple would not succeed. As most of you know, the Samsar award program is recognition for those Nobles that bring others into the Shrine. Every Noble can earn points toward a Samsar Award by obtaining Shrine memberships. This award is earned by accumulating at least 100 points. Nobles receive 10 points per top line signed and 5 points per second line signed. When points total 100, a Noble is entitled to receive a Samsar Award which he can proudly wear at all Shrine meetings. A Noble can continue to accumulate points towards additional awards to be attached to his Samsar award. As your membership chairman, I am ready to grow this Temple! Let s outnumber the Black Camel! Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision, the ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results - Andrew Carnegie Your membership chairman, Chad Denton, Outer Guard Oriental Band Safe, Happy and Blessed Holiday Season to all from the members of Hadi Oriental Band & their families. Hadi OB once again did a fantastic job entertaining our new Nobles in the first section of our Fall Ceremonial. A big thank you to OB Brethren for your participation throughout the day and consideration in helping show our newly raised Brothers around Hadi Temple. To our new Nobles, your journey has just begun. Now it s up to you what path you want to take and where you want it to take you. Make the most of it, Nobles. We congratulate you on this big step! Now, get active, get involved with a unit or county club and enjoy being a Shriner. We invite you to stop by our Oasis some Tuesday evening around 7 PM and check us out. Enjoy some camels milk and our hospitality. Who knows, the OB could be the unit your re looking to join. We ride in all parades, provide your uniform and instrument if your re active. You need not be musically inclined and we have low annual dues. You owe it to yourself to stop by. The OB is the place to be. The OB elected their new officers for 2019 at our November business meeting. I will have them posted for you in the January Hot Sands. Thank you to all our members who came down to participate in and support this important meeting. I believe we ve elected a good group to carry us through next year! Listen up gang, OB Christmas Party invites are out and VP Steve Hendrix is looking forward to another good turn out from the OB. An enjoyable evening has been planned for us so please let Steve know in a timely fashion if you plan on attending. A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated in the Evansville and Henderson Christmas Parades. We enjoyed the afterglow parties that followed each of the parades. Thanks to everyone who helped put together this year s fine Circus performances and entertainment. The shows were outstanding and enjoyed by all. A big thanks to everyone who worked the Circus and contributed their time and efforts in helping in one capacity or another to ensure that we had a successful year. It s always a fun time for fellowship and donating your time for such a worthy cause. Nomads, we still have a few things to wrap up before the end of the year. 9 Honored Ladies Recently we welcomed a new member to our Hadi Honored Ladies group. Her name is Ginny Wyatt. The attendance for our meetings has been really great and I thank all of our members for their cooperation in making this group activity such a pleasant event. It takes all of us working together to make this happen. We also thank Hadi and all of you there for the friendship and support you give us and most of all for allowing us to remain an active part of Hadi and its activities. Our members are asked to volunteer taking turns as hostesses at our meetings. These hostesses choose our menu for the lunch, invite a speaker for our program, or they may choose an activity as their program, or we can just socialize during that time. Our Hostesses in September were Joyce McFarland, Liz Gentry and Mary Lou Felker. For their program we played Bingo, with some crazy twists, and prizes were given for each Bingo. Also at this meeting, due to a very successful Auction, we voted to make a second donation to the Hadi General Fund. At our October meeting our Hostess was Judy Palmer. For her program Judy invited Melissa Nicholson, a Financial Advisor, who gave us some helpful information on handling our particular financial concerns. Other hostesses for this year included Jean Rickard, Nancy Markham, Nancy Clem, Jackie Arman, Jane Robey, Tonya Mitz and the officers, Jeannie Boling, Della Kokomor and Gail Hawkins. Also our Hadi Representative, Phil Smith, PP, and his Lady Charlotta usually host the month of February. This is Phil s and Charlotta s Valentine for all the ladies. Thanks to all of our hostesses for this year!!! Phil and Charlotta, we miss you. Hope you are back with us soon. Arab Patrol I d like to start off by saying what a year it has been. It has quickly passed us by. Ceremonial has come and gone. It was great to see all the Patrol Men and Nobles that came out that day to support all the new nobles. As everyone knows the circus was next and we needed all hands on deck for this task. This is our biggest fund raiser for our Temple. It was great to see so many ushers at the circus. This made everyone s job much easier. Tom would like to thank everyone who helped with that event. Everyone that participated in the Evansville Christmas and Petersburg parade thank you very much. The Arab Patrol Christmas Party will be held at Wolfs Barbecue on December 8, social 6 Meeting and If you have not made reservations yet please get it done. We had election of officers at our past meeting. All positions were filled with the exception of the secretary s position. If there are any patrol men that could fill that spot and continue on to the president s seat, PLEASE STEP UP thank you. President Gerald Anderson, Vice President Rick Ennis, Treasure Tony May and Captain Tom Land. From the officers of 2018 thank you guys for everything that you did! It did not go unnoticed.
