2 Pastor s Message Although Advent and Christmas are s6ll months away, the Church calendar for October and November contains a number of recognized holy days. On Sunday, October 4, we will celebrate World Wide Communion Sunday with Chris6an Churches around the world. The Joyful Noise Band will lead us in worship. That same day, is the annual CROP Walk at Cowan s Gap. Sponsored by Church World Service over 1,000 walks are scheduled around the U.S. If you can t par6cipate as a walker, encourage our walkers by pledging dollars for their walking. On Saturday, October 10, the Trinity congrega6on will host the annual pork and sauerkraut dinner. On October 25 we will celebrate Reforma6on Sunday, joining with Protestant Chris6ans around the world. On November 1 we will celebrate All Saints Day. This is the one Sunday set aside to remember those who have died in the faith. As Chris6ans we believe that the communion of saints (those on earth and those who have entered heaven) is a con6nua- 6on of Chris6an discipleship. If you have a loved one or friend whom you would like us to remember on that Sunday, please let Pam or Glenn know and we will include them in the worship service as we remember those who have preceded us in the faith. With special celebra6ons and Sunday School in full swing, invite a friend or neighbor to join us. As always, con6nue to hold the ministries of Trinity and St. Paul s in your prayers as we go about the Lord s work here in Fulton and Franklin Coun6es as well as our outreach throughout the world. Pastor Tussing Trinity Consistory met on September 8, The mee6ng was opened with prayer by Rosie Shives. The minutes were approved as read. The Treasurer's report included the Peach Fes6val breakdown so far along with the regular treasurer' report. The Deacons reported that Glenn needs to order the offering envelopes for We will need to check with Cindy about how many were used in Trustees reported that a bulky pick-up is coming up. Sam & Linda checked out some of the items in the church basement for possible things to clean out. The sign out front of the church should be painted un6l we have the work done to replace it. Evangelism Commi ee reported that the following are dates of upcoming events. October 3rd is the free food and clothing from October 10th is our pork and sauerkraut supper from 3:30-6:30. October 31st is the Women's Retreat. A copy of the pastor's report was available for everyone to review. Old business included informa6on about the copier being ordered. The company was asking for a contact person to be able to let them into the church for delivery. Linda or Rosie will be available for this. The Safe Church Policy needs to be reviewed by someone since Heidi has go en a full-6me teaching posi6on. The sink holes in the cemetery will need filled. Linda might have a li le dirt available for this along with asking Joe if there would be any extra dirt from digging graves at Stenger Hill. The search commi ee has had a couple of mee6ngs and will be mee6ng again soon. Under other business, Penn Central Conference is having a Hartman Center Retreat for Ministers from October 14-15, The cost would be $75.00 for food and facili- 6es. The conference would cover all other expenses. It was approved to pay our share if Pastor Tussing would like to a end this event. We are con6nuing to look for a regular organist. With no further business, our mee6ng was adjourned with the praying of our Lord's Prayer. Submi ed by Kathy Hess, Trinity Secretary
