Caramel Roll TODAY, November 11 Caramel Sunday is a youth fundraiser. The proceeds are divided by each youth that works the event and 10% goes to the Princeton Pantry. High School Youth Group A new youth group is forming for grades The group plans to meet once a month for fun and fellowship. Join the group TODAY, November 11, following coffee hour! Sandwich Man Confirmation Large Group Service Project Confirmation students will all meet together Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the fellowship hall following worship to make sandwiches for the Sandwich Man in Minneapolis. Allan Law, the Sandwich Man goes out on the street almost every night to distribute sandwiches to the homeless or those who are on the street at night. Trinity confirmation is joining us.

5 INFORMATION Flowers at the altar today are given by Lyman and Carolyn Stein in celebration of their 57 th wedding anniversary. HELP IS NEEDED! Help needed to put up the storm windows on the church. Please contact Ken Gustafson at if you can help with this task. Thank you. Board of Property and Facilities The Kitchen needs a good cleaning for the year. Can anyone help? The date is December 8 th at 1:00 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet on the old kitchen window on the east side of the fellowship hall. Bring you own cleaning supplies to clean out the fridges and freezers. Thank you. Board of Property and Facilities WATCH FOR YOUR THANKSGIVING OFFERING ENVELOPES MONTHLY SERVICE TEAMS ARE CHANGING!! Beginning in January 2019 we will not be using the monthly Service Team Ministry teams (which we have used for several years) to sign up worship volunteers. Starting the 4 th Sunday of November (G.I.F.T. Sunday, Generations in Faith Together) there will be a sign up in the gathering area for greeters, ushers, readers, coffee hour

6 servers/providers, communion servers and acolytes for the month of January and February. Please contact Helen Olson ( ) or LaJean Herman ( ) if you are willing to serve in leadership role in any of the above areas. We are looking forward to this change as a way to use our gifts for the glory of God in Immanuel. NOVEMBER FOOD DRIVE The November Food Drive to support our Princeton Pantry begins today and continues through the month. The Mission and Outreach Board encourages you to contribute non-perishable food items, toiletries, and/or money during the month. The Princeton Pantry has provided a service to many families in our area for several years. Princeton Pantry greatly appreciates cash donations, as they are able to purchase so much more food items from Second Harvest of Grand Rapids, than we can through our purchase of groceries. As this is the month of Thanksgiving, this gives us the opportunity to share and support those in the Princeton area that are in need of assistance. The grocery cart and offering plate will be available in the gathering area for your donations. The Pie Bakers will donate $200 to match the first $200 given by the congregation. Please consider a cash donation of any amount. Checks should be made out to Immanuel Lutheran, with Princeton Pantry written in the memo line. Thank you. Princeton Pantry Each month the Princeton Pantry is busy distributing food items to families or individuals who need food assistance. They serve about 165 families each month, which amounts to approximately 30,000

7 pounds of food items. The distribution records they keep, indicate that 13 % are senior citizens, 35 % are children, and 52% are adults. Also, they will give out about 150 dinner baskets for both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The Princeton Pantry provides a needed and grateful service for our community and needs the ongoing support and donations to sustain their ability to serve others. Please consider a gift of food items and/or money during our November Food Drive. Thank you. Please sign up for the date(s) you would like to sponsor flowers for next year Charlotte Meinz CHRISTMAS GIVING : Your opportunity will soon be here to help out families in need this Christmas. Watch for the Christmas Giving tree with the special ornaments that will tell you what items to purchase for a family. Last Christmas, 208 families (631 individuals) were served by our local churches, businesses, organizations and family members. You were a part of this program. Thank You!! Your

SOUND SYSTEM UPDATE The new sound system is beginning to come to life, thanks to the Pie Bakers & others for their generous donations. Some of the core pieces of equipment are now online, with more to come. Technology Group is looking for volunteers to help with this process. The work will be carried out on week day afternoons and on weekends and should be completed by December. Jobs include (but not limited to) setting up & testing new sound equipment in the sanctuary and in the Youth Center, cabinet building, and organizing materials. Long term, we need people to operate the new equipment, so this is a great way to get in on the ground level and learn how the new system works. 9 Operation Christmas Child National Collection week is Nov Gift boxes can be placed by the altar starting Nov. 1 st. The final day to bring boxes to Immanuel is Nov. 18 by the end of the 9 AM service. They will then proceed on this journey to find that special child awaiting the good news and a box filled with gifts of a lifetime. Pamphlets with labels, packing instructions and bookmarks will be available starting the week of Oct. 8 th. Watch for our display boards and boxes for your convenience in the Narthex and by the office entry. Coloring sheets/letters for the children to enclose in the boxes will also be on the display tables. A DVD will be in the office to check out if you would like to learn more and see wonderful results from this project. We would like to encourage members and friends to complete a box and enclose postage. Who would you like to team up with to shop and pack a box, a relative, friend, Neighbor or confirmand? Make it a fun fulfilling experience that can change lives! Want to try a warehouse sorting event? Reserve a spot by phone or online, as an individual or group. Lastly, thank you everyone for again spreading the love of God to all corners of the world.

12 The whole seating area of the Sanctuary is looped to help with hearing. If you have a telephone switch or T-Coil in your hearing aid, all you have to do is switch it on or it may automatically turn on when in the loop. You will hear directly from the PA System and clarity is amazing. Connection Cards. We are using what we call Connection Cards which are found in the hymnal racks. People in the pews are asked to share the same information they have in the past but in a different format. There is the addition of a perforated card at the bottom for visitors to take with them for information or for members to tear off to give to someone to share about Immanuel Lutheran Church. All volunteer sign-ups will be through an additional ½ sheet insert or eventually through our Welcome Center. There is now a Prayer Request tab on the website. You can put your request on it and it will go straight to Jensine Turner and Pastor Paul.
