When the Federal Government closes or has a delayed opening, morning Mass is cancelled. In order to avoid risking your personal safety, please use wise discretion when travelling in severe weather. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH IN HERNDON IS SEEKING A DIRECTOR OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY Candidates are expected to have a BA in Theology/Religious Education or a related field, 6 credits or experience in the following fields: administration, educational methods, supervision and catechetics. Position provides ministry to young people from 6th through 12th grades and will coordinate programs duties and events with the Pastor Spanish language proficiency a plus but not required. People are more apt to be traveling and active during these times, and there is an increased risk for accidents. The central event of the Old Testament will introduce themes fundamental to the entire Bible. The study begins on Wednesday, September 6 and continues for 10 weeks. 5 INITIATION RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) The Kingdom of Heaven is like... Today we hear not only about the different description about the Kingdom of Heaven, but the wondrous offer that God made to Solomon. Solomon, successor of King David, perhaps Israel s most famous king, asked for an understanding heart so that he might be able to wisely choose between what is right and wrong for the good of the people. For us, the Second Reading today might seem the most complicated. But if we recall that in Christ, we have something greater than Solomon, we see that God has given us even without our asking the image and example of how to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Summer Time What is the Kingdom of Heaven like for you? While there is the judgment and separation of what belongs and what does not, is there also a binding relationship between you, God, and neighbor?
