SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Engaged couples must make arrangements at least six months prior to the date of marriage. All are required to participate in a marriage preparation program. Please call the office to make an appointment. SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Baptism is ordinarily celebrated within a faith community. Please call the office to register for a preparation class and to arrange for a time for the celebration. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Guadalupe Chapel. OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS What an honor it is to carry the wine, hosts and offerings to the priest at Mass for consecration! Gift Bearers actively participate in the celebration of the Mass by presenting the gifts of Bread and Wine at the Offertory and require no special skills. Families and couples are invited to sign up to bring the gifts at the Mass that they designate as their preference. MASS FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED A sign language interpreter is available on the 2 nd and 4 th Sundays of the month at the 5:30 p.m. Mass. 7 CAR WASH Thomas Jefferson Drive As you get your car washed, help the poor and needy. We receive 10% of what CTR parishioners pay. We regularly donate this income to LINK, S.O.M.E. and the Women's Shelter in Leesburg. As you pay at the carwash, tell them you are from CTR so we receive their donation. SENIOR GROUP The CTR Senior Group meets Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Library for Bring Your Lunch meetings or at a local restaurant on the second Friday of the month. MISAS DOMINICALES Nuestra Parroquia de Cristo Redentor celebra dos misas Dominicales: la primera misa Dominical es celebranda todos los sábados a las 7:00 p.m. y la segunda misa Dominical a las 12:00 del mediodía del día Domingo. Collection receipts will be disbursed in their entirety to support diocesan special education /needs programs for the intellectually and developmentally challenged. On behalf of Bishop Loverde, Porto Charities extends a sincere thank you for participating in this collection assisting God s Special Children. VOLUNTEER FOR THE BALL COMMITTEE Catholic Charities seeks volunteers to serve on the Ball Committee to help make their largest annual fundraising event a success! Proceeds from this event help Catholic Charities to provide support to those in financial and spiritual need throughout the diocese. The Catholic Charities Ball is held in February and is a fun-filled evening of dining and dancing. The committee meets monthly and is comprised of extremely dedicated and creative individuals. SACREDNESS OF LIFE MEETING The next Sacredness of Life meeting will be Monday, August 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the library. SPOUSAL BEREAVEMENT GROUP Christ the Redeemer will be offering a bereavement support group for widows and widowers coping with the loss of a spouse beginning September 16, The support group will be interactive, focusing on the stages of grieving, the tasks of mourning, strategies for getting through the holidays, and the opportunity for participants to tell their story. The group will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m., on Tuesdays for eight weeks. The group will be facilitated by Alicia Waning, Rita Poston and Kathleen Sebek. Registration is required as space is limited. AUGUST FOOD DELIVERIES During August LINK will need volunteers to deliver food to families in need who live in Herndon, Sterling or Ashburn. Deliveries are made to up to four families on Tuesdays through Saturdays. If we can get two families to sign up to deliver each day, each family would only have to deliver to a maximum of 2 clients for that day. You will receive an the day before your scheduled delivery date with the client's information (name, address, phone number, etc.). You should contact the client to discuss the delivery time. Volunteers pack the food by 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, so you can deliver anytime after that provided the client is home. RISK JESUS, A DIOCESAN EVANGELIZATION CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 27 Join Bishop Loverde at Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge on September 27 for a unique opportunity to deepen your faith and invite a friend who is searching.
