When the Federal Government closes or has a delayed opening, morning Mass is cancelled. In order to avoid risking your personal safety, please use wise discretion when travelling in severe weather. JOHN THE APOSTLE 2018 PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION Preschool applications and information for the fall of 2018 are now available on the St. John the Apostle website (saintjohnleesburg.org) under Education and Youth. Registration information and applications can also be found at the Preschool Director s Office in the Parish Center. St. John s Preschool is the only Catholic Preschool in Loudoun County and enrolls students from every parish in the county. Registration is open to all children. Families from other parishes may turn in applications beginning Monday, January 22. A child must be three or four by September 30, 2018 to enroll in the three or four year-old class. We are looking for some new blood (pun intended) to take over the reigns of the blood drive ministry. We have not yet selected any dates for 2018 since we didn t want to commit the church without new coordinators. This month many of us will receive a mailing from Bishop Burbidge regarding the 2018 Bishop s Lenten Appeal (BLA). The theme for the 2018 BLA is Living in Faith~Giving in Gratitude. After reflecting upon the many blessings that God has given you, please prayerfully consider making a pledge to this important appeal that funds many programs and ministries that serve the people in our diocese. Together, through the BLA, let us renew our personal commitment to the Lord s work in our diocese. LIVE JESUS 2018 This year, the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales are marking the 15 th year they have offered Live Jesus, a morning of Lenten reflection and renewal through the lens of Salesian Spirituality. MARCH FOR LIFE The Right to Life March is Friday, January 19. Join many of us as we peacefully protest the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade that legalizes abortion.
