Religious Education / Life Long Faith Formation (Advent and Lent Bible Study) / Vacation Bible School / RCIA / Children s Liturgy of the Word...Brittain Banull DRE Religious Education Registration The Religious Education Program is just around the corner. Our primary goal is to always make our Religious Education Program a better and more faith-filled experience for your child. If you were in the Religious Education Program last year, registration forms will be mailed to you. Registration forms will soon be availible in the parish office during normal business hours or online at our parish website. Religious Education Classes will resume on Sunday, September 11, Religious Education Help Needed!!! Our Religious Education program is in need of teachers and aides. Religious Education Classes for grades 3 & 5 run on Sundays from 9:00AM to 9:50AM for grade 1, 2 & 4 from 10:05AM to 10:55AM & grades 6, 7 & 8 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM. If you are interested in one of these teacher or aide positions please contact Brittain Banull at the Parish Office Catechist Meeting Returning Catechists and Aides are asked to attend a meeting on Thursday September 1 st at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. New or Interested Catechists and Aides are also invited to attend this meeting. Information about the Religious Education year will be discussed at the meeting. Please come and join us. The education of our parish youth depends on your help and support! From the Desk of Father Pauselli Congratulations to Nathan James Sebastian, Jacob and Evan Ritterbeck who will be baptized this weekend at Divine Mercy. Nathan James is the son of Mark and Amanda Stevens Sebastian and was born on June 20, Jacob and Evan are the sons of ryan and Lynn Kitterman Ritterbeck and were born on March 22, May the Lord bless these children and their families on this most special occasion in their young lives. Next week we will take up the collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports Catholic organizations that provide affordable shelter and training for seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of the Soviet rule. By providing pastoral care, catechesis, and funding for building renovations, your donations help restore the Church and build the future in the region. In 2014, the Subcommittee on the Church in Central and Eastern Europe approved 290 grants for a total of $7,853,306. These grants represent scholarship and pastoral grants funded by your donations. In 2014, 61 scholarship and evangelization grants were awarded totaling $850,552. The remainder of the collection was allocated to support construction, pastoral, social justice and peace projects. All grants serve one purpose to rebuild the pastoral capacity and create future leaders of the Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Please give generously to the collection next week. With your donations we were able to collect 39 units of blood! Also with the help from the social concerns committee we were able to organize a great day. Finally I would like to thank Kathy Rowinski for all of the help and knowledge that she gave me. I couldn't think of a better Eagle Scout project. Thank you I look forward to next year!

Contact Brittain Banull at the Parish Office for more information and reservations - All money and Liability Waivers are due by August 22nd! 1st Annual Tom Cerep Memorial Blood Drive The Social Concerns Committee would like to congratulate Matthew Rink s success on his Eagle Project! Matthew Rink s Eagle Project was the 1st Annual Tom Cerep Memorial Blood Drive. There were 39 donors which was a huge turnout. This donation will help 117 blood recipients. Thank you to all that were able to donate! Our Gratitude goes out to Tom Cerep s family for their support with the blood drive! They were very instrumental in the success of this drive! Tom would be very proud of his family, church, Geisinger and the community for holding this special event in memory of him! ~Divine Mercy Social Concerns Committee The Women's Guild of Divine Mercy Parish is sponsoring their 16th Annual Craft Fair on Saturday, September 24 in the Parish Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Do your Christmas shopping early at this great display of handmade jewelry, seasonal decorations and gifts from over 40 local crafters. Door prizes all day - Quilt Raffle - Refreshments available. Admission $2.00. CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES FOOD PANTRY The summer months are very busy for our food pantry. Children are out of school and the demand has increased greatly. Please help us with the need to put food on our empty shelves. The following food items are in great demand: pasta sauce, cereal, soup, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.
