2 Page 2 From the Desk of Father Pauselli Congratulations to Colten Michael Godlewski who will be baptized this weekend at Divine Mercy. Colten is the son of Philip and Dorothea Gallagher Godlewski and was born on April 7, May the Lord bless Colten Michael and his family on this most special occasion! Welcome to Father Mariusz Mazurkiewicz who will be with us this weekend representing the missionary work of Prelature of Esquel (Patagonia) in the country of Argentina. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Next weekend the second collection will be to support the Catholic Relief Services. This Collection supports six Catholic agencies that touch more than 100 million lives around the world. The funds from this Collection help provide food to the hungry, support to displaced refugees, and Christ s love and respect to all people. Next week, please give generously to the Catholic Relief Services Collection and help Jesus in disguise, Have a great week! William J. Reilly Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time July 19, 2015 I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all the lands to which I have driven them and bring them back to their meadow; there they will increase and multiply. I will appoint shepherds for them who will shepherd them so that they need no longer fear and tremble; and none shall be missing, says the Lord. when He disembarked and saw the vast crowd His heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd. One of the oldest biblical images is that of a shepherd. From King David to the gospel of John and Jesus stating He is the Good Shepherd. Peter was told by the Risen Christ feed my sheep. With the same concern reflected in the gospel today, may I recall priests, bishops or popes in our life and lifetime who truly filled that role for me. Was it my parish priest who made Christ present in celebrating the sacraments of baptism, gave me the Eucharist or taught me catechism? Was it the bishop who laid hands on me, calling for the Holy Spirit to strengthen me? Was it the bishop of Rome, St. John 23 rd or St. John Paul II of our own lifetime who inspired and led us into the third millennium? Is it Pope Francis, humbly bringing the joy of the gospel to a world mired in war, hate, poverty and indifference? As I ponder I pray for the names and faces who have come to mind and shepherded me, and pray that others will respond to the Shepherd s call today to feed His sheep. This year s theme is: Father That They May be One Jn. 17:21 and we will focus on unity in diversity reflecting on the call of Pope Francis, Building the unity of the Church is the task of every Christian. The Conference will feature a variety of inspiring speakers and uplifting music. Mass is celebrated each afternoon. A well-stocked book/gift store will be available. Separate tracks for Children and Youth are also available. The full-weekend Registration Fee is $50 before July 17 and $65 after July 17. Single-day registration is also available. Commuting and brown-bagging is encouraged, while dormitory housing and cafeteria meals are available at a moderate cost. This will begin at 9 AM go until 3 PM. We are hoping to have a number of health care professionals/information groups available to provide health education materials that can be helpful to all members of our Parish Family--Parents, Children, The Elderly as well as Young Adults. This is a great opportunity for a free mini-health screening. There will also be a chance to win a basket at each of the vendor stands just by attending this event!
