Vacation Bible School Information Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Monday, July 11th through July 15th. Registration will begin in the next couple of weeks. Erin Burke will again be leading our VBS team. We are seeking new volunteers and inviting back everyone who did such a great job last year. Even if you can only help one or two days please volunteer to help. The success of this parish program depends on you. The sign of peace given at Mass is more than a jovial handshake. Its older, formal gesture was a hands-toshoulders embrace and a kiss on both cheeks (still seen in many traditional cultures). It is never a frantic attempt to shake hands with everyone in church. The words exchanges might simply be the peace of Christ. This is never a time for hellos or chitchat. This is an act of liturgy. Independence Day is this Monday. On this day we give thanks for our freedom and all the blessings God has bestowed upon our land. This Mass is offered for the families and friends of those who have died in tragedy, especially through murder, suicide, and accident. The Mass is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in Saint Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton. All persons who have lost a loved one through tragic and traumatic death are invited to this liturgy. We ask that the names of deceased loved ones are registered on registration forms which are available in the parish office or accessed on the Service and Social Concerns webpage on the Diocese of Scranton s website, Questions concerning this Mass may be directed to the Office for Parish Life at

Parish Breakfast / Craft Fair / Calendar Party / Parish Picnic / Movie Night / Doughnut Sunday / First Friday and Lenten Friday Luncheons / Clothes Shed and Coat Drive / Easter Egg Hunt / Breakfast with Santa / Concerts Coordinating Team Members: Mary Theresa Montoro, Chris Musso, Karen Grzyboski, Jen Roever, Jessica Fazzi, Marge MacArt, Colleen Musso, and Dina Castaldi PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Divine Mercy Prayer Shawl Ministry continues to be very active, meeting every Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the parish center. We share and enjoy prayer and fellowship while knitting and crocheting prayer shawls and lap robes which are being given to comfort those who are ill, console those who are grieving or who need the loving hands of God surrounding them. They are also created to celebrate life and its milestones. For your convenience, we have placed some Request Forms in the church vestibule. Please feel free to take one if you would like to have a prayer shawl or lap robe presented to someone you know. All shawls/lap robes have been blessed by Father Pauselli and are given with prayers and a Divine Mercy medal attached. The competed forms may be delivered to the parish office, dropped in the collection basket or you may call chairpersons Kathy Bauer or Sue Rogers directly. New members are always welcome! VNA Hospital offers a variety of Grief/Bereavement Support Groups we trust will meet your individual needs. During this time of transition, acceptance and healing VNA Hospice is here to help. Joining us for this type of support is a way to meet others who truly understand. A few groups offered are: Bereavement Support Group (3rd Thursday of each month 6:00-8:00pm AND 2nd Wednesday of each month 12:30-2:00pm), Knitting & Crocheting Group (every Monday from 1:30-3:00pm), Fisherman Knot Rosary & Sleeping Bag Project (every Tuesday 1:00-2:30pm), and Yoga For Healing ($10 fee per class, every Tuesday 6:15-7:30pm).
