Religious Education / Life Long Faith Formation (Advent and Lent Bible Study) / Vacation Bible School / RCIA / Children s Liturgy of the Word...Brittain Banull DRE Religious Education Registration The Religious Education Program is just around the corner. Our primary goal is to always make our Religious Education Program a better and more faith-filled experience for your child. If you were in the Religious Education Program last year, registration forms will be mailed to you. Registration forms will soon be availible in the parish office during normal business hours or online at our parish website. Religious Education Classes will resume on Sunday, September 11, Religious Education Help Needed!!! Our Religious Education program is in need of teachers and aides. Religious Education Classes for grades 3 & 5 run on Sundays from 9:00AM to 9:50AM for grade 1, 2 & 4 from 10:05AM to 10:55AM & grades 6, 7 & 8 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM. If you are interested in one of these teacher or aide positions please contact Brittain Banull at the Parish Office Catechist Meeting Returning Catechists and Aides are asked to attend a meeting on Thursday September 1 st at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. New or Interested Catechists and Aides are also invited to attend this meeting. Information about the Religious Education year will be discussed at the meeting. Please come and join us. The education of our parish youth depends on your help and support! From the Desk of Father Pauselli Monday, August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since it falls on a Monday this year it is not a holy day of obligation. Throughout the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis calls Mary our Mother of Mercy, the perfect model of how we should proclaim our faith, live in our hope and practice our charity. Our role, as disciples of the Lord and Mary s spiritual children, is to work at building a more just world, where every person and creature can dwell in the peace and harmony of God s original creation. Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12:10 p.m. Last week we received a rebate check from the 2015 Diocesan Annual Appeal in the amount of $4, which represents 75% of the amount our parish raised over the goal for the 2015 Appeal. We plan to use this money for new kneeler pads in the Church and to extend our sidewalk to make it easier for wheel chairs to enter our church. Thanks again to all who donated to the 2015 Appeal and to Corey and Missy O Brien for their leadership in the 1025 Appeal. There will be no Mass on Tuesday of this week at 12:10 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. for Joseph Robert Lawrence Joyce. Have a great week!

Bus Pilgrimage on Feast of St. Maria Faustina Wednesday, October 5, 2016 Celebrate the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy on St. Faustina s Feast Day walking through the Holy Doors and receive a plenary indulgence. The bus pilgrimage will leave for the Divine Mercy Shrine at 7:00AM from St. Maria Goretti Parish parking lot, Laflin Road, Laflin, PA Estimated arrival at the shrine is 11:00AM. All events will be at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine. Cost is $65.00 which will include breakfast, water, bus trip, shrine fee, a full course meal and the bus driver s tip. Call Cathy for reservations at CRAFT FAIR SPECIAL MEETING There will be a special meeting on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. to plan the 16th Annual Craft Fair which will be held in the parish center on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Chairperson Mary Ann Donovan requests everyone who can help with the Craft Fair to please attend this important meeting. 16th ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR The Women's Guild of Divine Mercy Parish is sponsoring their 16th Annual Craft Fair on Saturday, September 24 in the Parish Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come see this great display of handmade jewelry, seasonal decorations and gifts from over 40 local crafters. Door prizes all day - Refreshments available. Admission is $2.00. CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES FOOD PANTRY The summer months are very busy for our food pantry. Children are out of school and the demand has increased greatly. Please help us with the need to put food on our empty shelves. The following food items are in great demand: pasta sauce, cereal, soup, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.
