1 Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost November 12, :00 A.M. Green Prelude All Elevazione Zipoli (You are invited to a time of quiet preparation for worship during the Prelude.) Ringing of the Bell Welcome and Informal Moments Introit We Are One in the Spirit (congregation on refrain) And they ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, Yes, they ll know we are Christians by our love. *Call to Worship L: With praises upon our lips, we come to worship our God above. P: In joy and thanksgiving, we gather to rejoice in the gifts of our Great God. L: We praise God for this life, for this community, and for this very moment together. For all the gifts we have been given, we praise the Lord above! P: Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Come, let us worship! *Opening Hymn God of Justice, God of Mercy (vs. 1,2,5) No. 504 Unison Prayer of Confession and Lord s Prayer Holy God, you give us gifts to share, and yet at times, we hold them close and cannot let them go. You long for your love to be witnessed in our living, but we sometimes forget to shine your light through our thoughts, words, and deeds. Forgive us and forever call us into your service, purposing our lives to the work of being your church in the world. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us

2 this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Words of Assurance Anthem Once to Every Man and Nation David Stanley York Scripture Matthew 25:14-30 Beth Maxwell, reader Time for Children (The children are dismissed to Church School until 11:00 am.) *Hymn O Beautiful for Spacious Skies No. 532 Joys and Concerns Pastoral Prayer and Silent Prayer Choral Prayer Response Stewardship Witness Michele Peele Invitation to Offering Offertory Benediction on Sicilian Mariners Gordon Young *Doxology No. 44 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen (As our morning offerings are brought forward, so too are the non-perishable food offerings from the basket in the Narthex for St. Philip's Food Pantry.) *Unison Prayer of Dedication Good and Gracious God, bless the offerings that we place before you. May they sustain the ministry we offer to our neighbors, both in and out of the church. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
