Philippians 4:19 Project Toybox COLLECTION November 4 th thru November 25th Accepted dona ons: Gently used or new toys, books, games, movies (dvds only) puzzles, bikes/ride-ons, cra items (excluding used crayons/markers), Ba eries (all sizes), wrapping paper, masking and/or packing tape, Transparent tape. (please no stuffed animals unless they are brand new) Monetary dona ons will also be accepted. The money will help us to purchase gi s for older aged children. Please make any checks out to CUMC with Project Toy box in note area and on envelope; cash can be put in envelope. All monetary dona ons can be given to Tricia Henise; church secretary; or in the offertory plate with Project Toybox on envelope. If possible please clean toys and mark them clean What is Project Toy Box? Project Toy Box is a toy outreach ministry hosted by Christ United Methodist Church, Yorkana. This ministry targets families experiencing financial difficul es during the Christmas season. Although presents are o en associated with the commercialism of Christmas, our mission is to help families unwrap the love of Jesus Christ in the gi s received through this ministry during their me of need. How does it work? Gently used toys, books, puzzles, games movies, cra items (excluding used crayons, markers) and bikes/ride-ons, are collected in early December. Communica ons regarding this event are provided to U.M. Cluster and Eastern York School District as well as select area agencies to distribute to families in need. A er cleaning and sor ng the items, a toy store is set up and the doors are opened for parents and guardians to come and collect gi s for children in their care at no cost to them. Volunteers are available to assist guests in their shopping experience. In addi on, refreshments, gi wrap services, and a Kidz Zone are available to provide a complete shopping experience surrounded by the Savior s love. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you. Deuteronomy 16:17.

11 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD THIS YEAR S GOAL: 150 BOXES! Here is a story of one child who received a shoebox gift. Erica, who lives in Peru, had been praying for new sneakers. Her family did not have enough money to buy them. The shoebox gift that Erica received not only contained a pair of sneakers (Praise God) but socks, a small towel, soap, a comb, notebook and stickers as well. When I opened by box and found shoes, I learned that God can make miracles. said Erica. Please help make our goal this year of 150 boxes by November 18th! Giving shoeboxes filled with supplies does make a difference in so many lives around the world. Some more gift suggestions small musical instrument, a yo-yo, flip flops, hat, scarf, jump rope, small plastic animals, cards, fish hooks, marbles, buttons, activity books with mazes and pictures to color, bags with draw strings. Check out the tables in the welcome area and upstairs in the Children s Dept. for more ideas. Collection dates are November 4th, 11th and 18th. You are making an eternal difference.
