Speaker Series & Fashion Show Update The Hope for the 21st Century Speaker Series, featuring author Benjamin Skinner, and the UNCHAINED Fashion Show is less than 3 weeks away. If you haven't already registered for the free tickets for this event on 9/26, please do so as soon as possible, either online at or using the insert in the bulletin. The casting call for the fashion show took place last weekend, and the models for the show are set, including 5 young ladies from our church. This will be a great opportunity for the youth involved to play a role in educating the community about human trafficking, and we don't want you to miss out on the opportunity to see an impactful speaker and fashion show. Please get your tickets and come out and support our youth, and support our efforts to make a difference in this human rights issue. Epiphany Fair Mark Your Calendars Epiphany is celebrated as the time when the Wise Men visited the child Jesus to worship Him. The official date is twelve days after Christmas, but in 2016 Troy First will celebrate Epiphany on Jan 13 starting at 6pm with our own Epiphany Fair and the

4 drama, "It Started with a Star." The Fair will feature crafts, food, and traditions from six countries around the world while the play will tell the story of the Wise Men, their wives, and servants and how the journey to follow the star impacted each of them. You will not want to miss this church-wide event! TFY: Troy First Youth TFY meets every Wed night 6:30-8:30pm September 13th: Ping Pong Capture the Flag, 6:30-8:30pm September 27th: Sr. High Sunday Funday, 1-4:30pm-John Bryan Stained Glass Windows Completion Need: $61,000 SAVE THE DATE! UMW FALL RUMMAGE SALE. The United Methodist Women will be having their annual autumn rummage sale on Fri. Apr 9 th, 9am-4pm, and Sat. Oct. 10 th, 9am-12 noon. Your help is needed to make this another successful one so please start saving your gently used items such as clothing (all sizes of men, women and children), furniture, seasonal décor, books, small appliances, pictures, games and toys, household items (such as dishes, linens, kitchen utensils, sewing and decorative items). Let s clean out those closets, attics and garages! Drop off days will be Oct 6 Oct 8, 9am- 3pm at First Place. A night time drop off will also be available on Thurs, Oct 8, 6-7:30pm at First Place. All proceeds fund the UMW missions. Helpers are always needed so come and join us. Sherry Lochi is the founder of The Time Bank. The Time Bank is an opportunity for the community to help each other. Help is defined as providing a product or service that families or seniors can use. Come hear how this ministry is building community and filling needs. Friendships are developing as neighbor helps neighbors. Altar Flowers The Altar flowers are presented to the Glory of God by Camille Green, in honor of my mother and in loving memory of my father, Clois Dudgeon. Their 65 th wedding anniversary would have been on Sept 10 th.

5 Costa Rica Deposit Due If you are planning to join us for the Costa Rica Trip please submit a deposit of $200 by the end of September. Our trip to Costa Rica is scheduled for Nov Cost is approx $1000 per person. 7 United Methodist Women Mission Moments The orphans at the Joy Valley Children's Home in Nairobi, Kenya, were beaming with smiles as they received gifts of clothes, food, sweets and toys. They were excited about my Ubuntu Journey to their home. Together we played games and they listened to stories about baby Jesus, "Cinderella stories" and stories about United Methodist women who share hope and extend love to the world. They are available on the window ledge of the church office. Blood Pressure Checks Our Health Ministry Team will give free blood pressure checks next Sun, Sept 13. Checks will take place at 9:30am in the church office & First Place and again at 10:45am in the church office only.

9 Wednesday night fun returns beginning Oct 14 - Nov 18 from 6-7pm ROCK is for kids age 3 through 5 th grade. Join us for dinner from 5-6pm at First Place, and then take the kids to the 3rd floor of the main church building for an evening of bible story, crafts, games, and fun! We really need servants to help run this program for our kids. Servants do not need to help each Wednesday. Let us know what Wednesday you are available to serve and we will schedule you!
