The topics include peace/war, military and government relations, education, and healthcare. Different discussion leaders will be featured with knowledge in the different areas being discussed. The class will meet in the room beside the fireplace. Baby Shower family and friends of Tristan & Tori Gerber are having a baby shower here in the fellowship hall this Sunday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. They would like to invite the church to participate in this shower as well. Torri is registered at WalMart and the Baby Depot inside Burlington Coat Factory. There will be a diaper raffle (bring a pack of diapers to be entered to win a prize). Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County WCMC AREA 17 teens are getting involved with the Friends of the Homeless shelter in New Philadelphia. AREA 17 will be collecting items for the shelter during the month of February. A list of items is included in this week s pas soma news on page 5. Please bring smaller items to the church fellowship hall and place on table designated. If you have larger items to donate and need pick up for these items, please call Heidi Starner at Any questions can be directed to Lindsay Violet at or Andi Starner at Passion of Christ on Good Friday, WCMC will be portraying the Passion, the events experienced by Christ on His journey from Pilate s court to His crucifixion and the tomb. Participants, dressed in character, will not need to memorize anything or even say anything. They will simply stand motionless as each event is read by a narrator. We also need people to assist with props, costumes, set design, and lighting. First rehearsal will be this Sunday, February 15 th at 4 p.m. at the church.

Donations will go toward AREA 17 teens going to the Dare 2 Share conference coming up in March. Mennonite Women will meet this Tuesday, Feb. 17, to quilt and knot comforters. Devotions by Pauline Miller. Hostess is Alice Horrisberger. Everyone bring a dish to share. Project is bars of ivory soap for MCC. Collecting for MCC Mennonite Women s project for the month of February is collecting bars of Ivory soap for MCC. They are asking the church s participation with this collection. Place bars of soap in the box behind the mailboxes. The last day for collection is March 1. February Souper Thursday collection is peanut butter and jelly (it was incorrectly listed last week). Place on table in the foyer. February Souper Thursday is the 26 th. Hope Tote Collection WCMC is again participating in Haven of Rest s Hope Tote Campaign. There is a tub behind the mailboxes to collect your filled tote. Items in tote are: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shaving cream, disposable razors, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, lip balm, socks, brush and comb, shoelaces, hand or body lotion, facial tissue. Collection will continue through Friday, March 13, 2015 Groups (family or church), who use the kitchen/fellowship hall: Please let us know what items you use from the kitchen that are reusable (other than the silverware, brown trays, coffee/water pitchers, cooking items). The initials WCMC are engraved on one of the handles. It was purchased with church funds at WC Cheese a few years ago. I miss my twin, but the lid misses it even more. It feels totally useless without the kettle. If you have taken the kettle home and have forgotten to return it, please bring it back. The lid will be very happy to be reunited with the kettle. Powerful Peacemaking how to mediate and transform disagreement into opportunity. A hands-on skill training workshop offered at Lifebridge Community Church 301 n. Wooster Ave. Dover. There will be eight 90 minute sessions (2/3 Tuesday sessions per month) from 7-8:30 p.m. The first session will be on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Total cost is $40. Tickets can be purchased by calling or Parables in concert the group Parables from Goshen College will be providing a concert at Berlin Mennonite on Sunday, March 600 p.m. A finger food carry-in will follow the service.
