1 November 24/25, HAITI TRIP: On January 8th, St. Peter will be sending a servant team to Haiti. Registration is now open. Planned Projects: Welcome to St. Peter for Worship! Yet, have you ever wondered what they do other than support good causes and travel the world? Perhaps our picture of a king is a bit out of focus when we think of our King, Jesus. 2 CHRISTMAS EVE: Children from Kindergarten on up are invited to take part in this year's Christmas Eve Family services at 1pm or 3pm! Speaking and non speaking parts with very little memorization required. Three (3) practices will occur in December and attendance is required. Adults are also welcome to assist in costumes, lighting and staging the children. Please contact Mrs. Joanna Eden at if your child is interested in serving in this way! Practices are: Saturday, Dec 15th: 1 3pm, Thursday, Dec 20th: 6 7:30pm, Sunday, Dec 23rd from 1 2:30pm (Dress rehearsal). Parents of K 2nd Graders must stay during rehearsal please. FMSC Mobile Pack Event: St. Peter will be participating in the Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack Event on Sunday, December 9 th from 3 5pm. Event will be held at the Schaumburg Renaissance Center, 1551 Thoreau Drive North, Schaumburg, Illinois, Register your spot today, we need 200 volunteers ages 5 & up. FOOD PANTRY: Thank you for your continued support. This week we gave 60 Thanksgiving Meal Sets to families in need. Please continue to take tags from board in Narthex for the fall food drive. These items are for the Christmas Meal distribution. This weekend is Grocery Sack Sunday. Please take a blue bag and return next week with nonperishable food donations. The following items are needed for the monthly food sets: crackers, snacks, cream soup, tomato soup, variety soup, peanut butter, jelly, boxed pasta dinners, canned fruit, canned veggies, jello, pudding, pasta, canned pasta, tuna, cake mix, boxed potatoes, pork and beans, and chili. Thank you in advance! St. Peter Lutheran Church Village Ornament: Purchase the Village of Schaumburg s annual holiday ornament that features the historic chapel of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Ornaments are now available for $17 and can be purchased anytime from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court or you may place an order through the St. Peter church office. Every Friday St. Peter will fulfill the orders for pick up on Sunday. For more information, call or stop in church office.

3 Stewardship Ingathering Bottle Caps In order to encourage good stewardship in everyday living, St. Peter s Stewardship Ministry Team has been having periodic ingatherings during So far, we have collected eyeglasses, hearing aids, batteries and worn out flags. Each was for about a onemonth period. Now through March we will be collecting Snap on lids, like on butter tubs, coffee cans (max 8 ), yogurt, hairspray, shampoo bottles. Twist on caps, like soft drink and water bottles, milk jugs, medicine bottles (but not the bottles), detergent jugs. Flip top spout caps, like ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, etc. You can bring your caps to the small receptacle at the Connection Center in the church narthex, or feed them directly to Gilbert, the Cap Eating Monster in the school lobby. In the spring, they will be sorted by the students to remove unacceptable materials, then delivered to a factory in Evansville, IN, where we will pick up a plastic park bench to be placed somewhere on our property. Our goal is to collect 500 pounds of caps by next March. How much is 500 pounds? About gallon plastic bags!

Call or Nate Pfeil for more information at BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS SAVE THE DATE: Friday, December 7, is our annual Birthday Party for Jesus (5.30pm to 7.30pm) in the school gym. This is a free family event and includes carnival games, prizes, crafts, cookie decorating, face painting and much more. Come for dinner as pizza, hot dogs, beef nachos, cheese nachos, drinks and chips will be available to purchase. Wear your pajamas and bring a hat/pair of mittens or a non perishable item for the food pantry. CHRISTMAS CONCERT ORCHESTRA: Looking for any and all instrumentalists to come join the orchestra for the annual St. Peter Christmas Concert on Dec 16th at 5:00pm! The orchestra is meant for ALL ages and ALL skill levels. If you play an instrument, we want you! The orchestra will play 4 orchestral hymn arrangements in accompaniment with the organ! Dec 16th from 10:00pm 11:30pm FESTIVAL CHOIR: Have you always wanted to be a part of the festivities around the holidays? Well you're in luck! Our Festival Choir is meant for any congregation member to come and help lead the congregation in singing praises to the Newborn King this Christmas! The music is simple enough to pick up in only a couple of practices too! The Festival Choir will begin practicing in December on Thursday evenings in the sanctuary from 7:30 8:00pm. The Festival Choir will sing on Christmas Eve at the 5:00pm and 10:30pm service. If you can make both services, great! If not, that's okay too! We're happy to have anyone ready to sing! We hope to see you join the Christmas festivities!

Saturday Men s Network Bible Study: Second Saturday of the Month. 8:00 a.m. studying a series from the Lutheran Hour Ministry Men s Network Out of Nothing: The Word, Creation and Faith. ST. PETER GROUPS WITH A PURPOSE: Sunday Night Youth: JR. HIGH YOUTH GROUP: Students in 7 th and 8 th grade are invited! Sundays from 4:30 6:30pm. SR. HIGH YOUTH GROUP: 9 th 12 th Graders Welcome! Meet Sundays from 6:30 8:30pm. The Helping Hands Knit/Crochet Group meets the 2 nd and 4 th Mondays of each month at 9:30 AM in the Lay Ministry Room. The creations made by the Helping Hands group are donated to people in need. Church Mice Quilters This group creates wonderful quilts and sends them all over the world to those in need. All are welcome. Church mice quilters meet on Mondays at 7 pm in the Lay Ministry Room. Young at Heart is a Christ centered fellowship for older adults 60 plus. Typical meetings are the 4 th Thursday of the month in Fellowship Hall from 11 2 p.m. Next meeting is November 29 th. Brown Bag Plus. Bring a salad or dessert. We will be entertained by guartist/singer, John Seder. Tuesday Night Prayer Group: The group meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Peter sanctuary by the altar. It is led by Pastor Kevin Bergmann. Everyone is welcome to participate. Divorce Support for Moms with Kids: A new ministry designed to help support women with children who have gone through divorce and need encouragement spiritually, as well as practically, as they continue to walk the path. The plan is to meet from 3:15 4:45pm, every 4th Monday of the month. M.E.N.D. (Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death) Next Meeting, Tuesday, December 4 (7 8:30 p.m.). M.E.N.D. Chicagoland is here to support Moms and Dads who are grieving the loss of their babies through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Please feel free to bring a support person with you.
