Fundraiser at Ashton Community Church THIS Saturday, July 13 th 6p Tonya Marie Beiler is performing in concert with Barry Johnson & Gary Yoder to raise funds to expand the outreach efforts of Ashton Community Church. Ashton Community Fellowship is located at 2895 Ashton Road in Sarasota. No admission; a freewill offering will be taken. More info is available on the Community Bulletin board near the kitchen. SPUD Fundraiser Lunch NEXT Sunday Plan now to stick around for the Connect Student Ministries Spud Day. From 10a-12:30p when you ll enjoy a potato bar with all the toppings you could imagine. All proceeds go to support the middle & high school students of BVMC. NEXT Sunday 6p Get in on the stories of fun, excitement, and spiritual growth as our youth tell about their recent trip to Phoenix, AZ for the Mennonite Youth Convention. HELP WANTED Driver Female driver needed on Sunday mornings for Family Service to give rides to and from church for an attender without transportation. Location is Pinecraft. 6 Spending Budget spend less than you earn (secret formula for financial success). Credit cards pay off your credit card bill each month and avoid using credit cards to make impulse purchases. Screen potential purchases use Richard Foster s 10 guidelines*: 1. Buy things for their usefulness rather than their status. 2. Reject anything that is producing an addiction in you. 3. Develop a habit of giving things away. 4. Refuse to be propagandized by the custodians of modern gadgetry. 5. Learn to enjoy things without owning them. 6. Develop a deeper appreciation for the creation. 7. Look with a healthy skepticism at all buy now, pay later schemes. 8. Obey Jesus s instructions about plain, honest speech. 9. Pray for Ann and the family. Cards and condolences may be sent to Ann at CR 43, Goshen, IN Rosanna Moser transitioned from Earth to Heaven on the morning of Thursday, July 1 st. Be in prayer for Joe and the family. Visitation at BVMC is planned for Thursday, July 11 4pm. A memorial service will 6pm. Edna Beachy continues to recover from surgery last Thursday. Dave Kniss is recovering nicely from a June 27th back surgery. Continue to lift up individuals and families traveling this summer. Who is Timothy Kane? Some of you may have wondered who the man behind the name is that remains on our prayer list. Others may wonder who the man in the photo is in the lighted bulletin board at the back of the church. Timothy Kane is a young man who is incarcerated in a Florida prison with two life sentences even though he never touched nor harmed the victims in his case. Please stop by the bulletin board to pick up more information about Timothy. Page 7

Kids will be dismissed for Kids Church just prior to the message. Parents can pick them up in room 4 after the service. 11 Come in out of the heat for Christmas in July VBS 2013! VBS Paint & Create! NEXT noon. We need your hands to help paint some decorations and prep some crafts for VBS. No experience necessary! We still need: 100 Men s white tube socks (no gray heels/toes) 10 Big bags of uncooked rice 10 Bottles of school glue 400 Cheap plain white paper plates (dinner size) Pink & brown construction paper 400 Cheap plastic white forks 400 Small buttons (1/2 ; preferably the flat kind; any colors) 100 Googlie eyes (about 5/8 ; we can t have VBS without googlie eyes!) 200 gold star stickers (1 diameter would be great!) Green pool noodles (they are $1.18 ea at Walmart; the more the merrier. These will be turned into candy canes. Doesn t that sound fun?) 120 Magnets (got old magnets on your fridge? Pull off the décor and bring in the magnets.) LOTS of miscellaneous Christmas stickers 5 Cheap white table covers (it would be great if they arrived at BVMC already cut into strips about 2 wide. These will get wrapped around the noodles to make the candy cane stripes.) Hand to help put it all together! We ll be meeting on o Sunday, July 12pm to Paint & Create AND to hang Christmas lights & decorate the outside of the church o Saturday, July 1pm to Decorate Afraid you ll pick up the wrong supplies at the store?
