Today we speak up through our prayers and personal sacrifices for our brothers and sisters in the Missions. As little as $25 helps support a catechist for a month in Latin America; $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters in Africa; $100 assists children in schools in Asia. Your prayers and financial help support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing love and peace. ZIGGY S OFFERING: Passing along the advice of saints and my own personal experiences, SILENCE is the absolute answer! Seek silent moments throughout the day, give thanks for them and let God s Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Guaranteed results!

3 Thank you to everyone who helped with our Free Yard Sale. It was amazing to see the many clothes, etc that many of you brought on Let It Go weekend. The many who helped sort fold arrange etc. was fantastic and made it so easy for folks to find what they needed. Thanks also for the hospitality and food service adults who helped plan and cook the youth who were so generous with their time and energy who helped serve the many who came and enjoyed a great breakfast free! They all were so thankful and grateful for all that everyone did to make them feel welcomed! It seems almost strange to talk about air conditioning with the weather having changed so drastically but our technical advisors tell us that we need to be planning even weeks ago. The information that I had passed on to you last weekend has not changed we must do something now so we can be ready for the spring and summer weather. The main equipment (especially the chillers pumps pipes insulation etc.) we have is nearly thirty (30) years old. It has outlasted any prediction of service it was to perform. We can be grateful for that. It got us through some very tough times even though with some downtime along the way. But now is the time for us to face the reality we must do something now and plan for the future. More information will continue to come out as we look for reputable companies to bid and estimate the real cost of the needs we have. Thank you for your past generosity and let us ask the Lord to help us with this new need. We will not know the real cost to replace the equipment until prospective bidders can see the scope of the work involved. We continue to pray the Lord will lead us in this effort to the right person and a reasonable price. The lesson starts with a question. It seems innocent enough What must I do? It leads Jesus to respond to the young man who seems so sincere. Jesus responds with another observation about who really is good referring directly to God. Then Jesus addresses From the Desk Of Fr. John the goal of the man s question Eternal life. Jesus helps the man to reflect on the Torah or as we would call it the Law or more traditionally the Commandments. These were God s guidelines and instructions as how to live in harmony with God and with neighbor. The man answers that he has abided by these commandments since his youth. The man continues his conversation with Jesus and seeks what else is there that he must do to inherit this relationship with God. Jesus tries to help him to see that it is not something earned but a gift to be accepted and lived. God has blessed this man with much wealth which we did not know at the beginning of his dialogue with Jesus. But Jesus now challenges him to surrender what he had put his trust into money possessions wealth and put it all in God s hands. The rest of the challenge is to use these God given gifts for the benefit of others especially those who do not have enough to live on. What are we facing in our own lives? How can we use the gifts that God has given us to benefit others? How can we now follow Jesus? With this Sunday we move it almost seems backward to the disciples seeking position and power. Two disciples James and John ask that they receive the first and second place in Jesus kingdom. Jesus has to challenge them to see that their power seeking is not the kingdom that He has been preaching. The world wants to lord it over others but, Jesus has come to serve. Jesus invites His disciples to take on a different attitude. Jesus teaches them that It shall not be so among you. That is such a powerful statement it cuts to the heart of what it means to be a disciple. Jesus goes on to say Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant For the Son of man did not come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for the many. That is the lesson we must follow!

7 Annual Catholic Services Appeal: Educational Services The Annual Catholic Services Appeal (ACSA) theme Called to Share God s Gifts focuses on how we can all work together to care for the Church s people. Contributions to ACSA support ministries and services that reach across parish boundaries. Some very important services are beyond the resources of most parishes, including Ss. Peter and Paul. To meet those needs, the diocese offers programs and services which help our parish and the people of the diocese, making our communities better places Reason #7 for Singing in the Choir Seventh in a series By Nick Robinson,Music Director # 7 Reason: Singing in the church choir has allowed me to get to know so many wonderful people who love the Lord and have a heart of service. A choir becomes a family as we serve together and care for one another. We love each other and share God's love with one another. What a bond is formed when you have worshiped together, cried, smiled, laughed, worked, learned and prayed together. I can sing a to live and work. This produces a wise use of resources by eliminating needless duplication. One important ministry area supported by ACSA is Educational Services. These include: Catholic Teachers Training Catechist Formation Catholic School Services (Planning and assistance with programs and policies) Promotion of Schools In-service for Directors of Religious Education Diocesan Adult Enrichment Conference Lay Ecclesial Ministry Formation Program Campus Ministry Services Your gift to the Annual Catholic Services Appeal helps make these ministries and services possible. Our assessment/goal is $121,010. wrong note, say the wrong phrase/ words and my choir family considers this to be part of the process of learning the music, growing in faith and a musical expression called harmony. I'm so blessed to have been adopted by this church family and given the ability to bring God glory. Psalm 84:4, "Blessed are those who dwell in Thy house, ever singing Thy praise!" Please prayerfully consider these reasons and think about joining us in the choir. You can contact me at For the first time, Ss.
