This vigil is open to all and is a special invitation to those who have been hurt by abortion to pray for hope and healing. Archbishop Hebda will celebrate Mass at 7 p.m. at St. Mary s Chapel at The Saint Paul Seminary, with a prayer vigil to follow. Communal and private prayer, Adoration, Mass, and presentations by Archbishop Hebda and Bishop Cozzens are designed to help participants discern their future vocation. Patrick - beginning Jan. 10 It s time to Brush Up on Your Bridge! Fr. Patrick has asked Jolene Gust to present a crash course on the essential elements of a well-rounded Bridge player on Tuesday evenings this winter (January 10, 24, 31, and February 7). Those who are already somewhat knowledgeable and able but want to improve their abilities are invited to participate. We will learn the modern conventions and usual bidding procedures that are part of the usual ACBL-sanctioned games, as well as maneuvers such as the Stayman Convention, Bidding Transfers, No Trump Communication, and other fine-tuning hints. 4 NCCW Bread for New Life Are you expecting/adopting a baby or know someone who is? The Nativity Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) sponsors an ongoing Bread for New Life Ministry that coordinates meals for families who are welcoming a new baby. Families are able to set meal preferences, times of day, and frequency of the deliveries. Friends, parishioners, or school members can then sign up to bring a meal or donate a restaurant gift card. All meals are coordinated by Bread For New Life Chair Carolyn Wollan through the Meal Train website. Moms Club Playdate - Tuesday, January 10, 9-10:30am Beat the cold with some exciting play and a fun project! Inspired by the innocent questions of a 5-year old, we invite you to join us in the Random Act of Kindness project to help our fellow neighbors with a smile and some warmth. Faith Formation Catholicism Video Study - beginning Thursday, January 12 Beginning this Thursday, all are invited to join a presentation of Bishop Robert Barron s Catholicism: The Pivotal Players video series on Thursday mornings in the Gather Room immediately following the 8:15am mass. This group study will take place over the course of minute sessions of video and discussion led by Linda Kracht and will explore the lives of some of the greatest influencers and shapers of civilization, namely holy men and women of the Catholic Church. Newcomers are very much encouraged and welcomed as always! Dessert will be served. We pray that you will consider joining the Nativity Respect Life committee this year as a part of a New Year's resolution to uphold and defend all human life, from the womb to the tomb. We are also looking for a co-chair to help with events, especially 40 Days for Life efforts. Please prayerfully consider helping in this way. Pizza & Movie Night - January 19 We will present the film, Changing Sides: the Abby Johnson Story on Thursday, January 19 from 6-8pm in Steiner Hall. This is the true story of her conversion from a dedicated Planned Parenthood director to a leading Pro-life Activist. Volunteers Needed at Birthright Birthright of St. Paul is an all-volunteer pregnancy help center located on Snelling just one block south of I-94. We are urgently seeking compassionate and committed pro-life volunteers, including board members, special event coordinators, and mentors to work directly with clients. Please join us in serving women and men facing unplanned pregnancies. Sometimes a listening ear or caring words can actually save a life! Training is provided. To bring awareness to this event and its victims, both the unborn and their families, we will discuss The Walls are Talking, Former Abortion Clinic Workers Share Their Stories by Abby Johnson. This work narrates the harrowing and life -changing experiences of former abortion clinic workers, including the author, who once directed abortion services at a large Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas.
