Men s Club Raffle The Annual Men s Club Raffle is here, and this year we have made an exciting change! In addition to monthly prizes of $300, $200, and $100 from May through September, we have amped up the raffle with Grand Prizes in October of $1000, $500, and $300! 4 Faith Formation RCIA Update On Sunday, March 5, Nativity s catechumen, candidates, and their sponsors joined another 500 candidates and their sponsors from all over the Archdiocese at the Cathedral of St. Paul, where Archbishop Hebda celebrated the Rite of Election (for those soon to be baptized) and the Rite of Continuing Conversion (for those already baptized in another Christian faith tradition but are now looking forward to being received into the Catholic Church at the same Easter Vigil). Let s keep our elect, who will be baptized, confirmed and receive their First Holy Communion at this year s Easter Vigil, and our candidates in our prayers as they continue their journey through the RCIA season of Purification and Enlightenment (the time during Lent when they prepare to be received into the Catholic Church). Liturgy & Piety St. Patrick s Day Dispensation - Friday, March 17 Typically, Catholics 14 years of age and older must abstain from eating meat on all the Fridays of Lent. This year, however, Archbishop Hebda has declared that Catholics in the Archdiocese (living here or visiting) may choose to enjoy meat in honor of the Feast of St. Patrick this Friday, March 17, and are exhorted to offer a penance or work of charity some time during this week instead. Lenten Afternoon of Reflection - March 24 Join us for an afternoon of seeking holiness and conversion, according to the Carmelite Mystical Doctors of the Church and Sacred Scripture, "Encountering Christ: Jesus and the Rich Young Man," presented by Deacon Dan Gannon of the St. Paul Seminary. Prayer Shawl Ministry - Thursday, March 16, 8:45am Compassion and the love of knitting/ crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry which meets in Steiner Hall and reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace as well as celebration and joy. If you like to knit or crochet and would like to become part of this special ministry, contact Sharon Altman at salt_man@comcast.net or (651) March Food Drive - Ongoing through April 2 The 2017 Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign is now underway, and Nativity 4th Grade Girl Scouts will distribute grocery bags later this month. In the meantime, food donations can be placed in the closet in the back of church and cash/monetary donations can be placed in the collection baskets (in an envelope marked food shelf ). Checks can be payable to Keystone, with food shelf on the memo line. We hope to surpass our donations from last year of 2,659 pounds of food and $5,980 to help eliminate hunger in our community. All ages and abilities are needed. Our projects will be led by volunteers from the NCCW, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Social Justice Club, and Student Council. Bring unusable linens, clothing and shoes to the FSM for St. Vincent de Paul! Torn or stained clothing/linens, discarded fabric, worn-out shoes, purses, leather belts can be recycled and generate revenue for St. Vincent de Paul to serve the poor in our community. Clean out your closets & help us make a large recycling donation to St. Vincent de Paul. Fund and reserve a service project! Some of our service projects require more supplies than others. Please consider contributing to one of the service projects listed below to help us increase our giving! If you choose to donate, you may reserve the project for your family to complete at the FSM, or you can donate the project for our volunteers to complete for you.
