Respect Life Behold, the Virgin Shall Bear a Child "You have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High." -Luke 1:30-32 Father in heaven, help me to see Jesus in my own surroundings. Help me to bring him into the world I live in and to be Mary-like as I strive to be a witness of faith and love. Help me to learn to submit my will and to trust, as Mary did, in God's will. Blessed Mother, you are our mother too. Please pray today for the mothers who do not know you. Pray for those who feel abandoned, abused, and alone. Pray for those who see abortion as a solution to a fearful pregnancy. Pray too, for us in the pro-life movement, that we may be a witness of joy and love to all we meet today. Amen. --From Prayers for Life, Forty Daily Devotions by Mary Ann Kuharski Prayer and Song at Planned Parenthood - December 22 Join us in shining the light of Jesus' love in a place in desperate need of hope and joy. We will meet on Tuesday, December 22 from 9-11am at the Planned Parenthood on Vandalia, just north of University in St. Paul to sing carols and pray the rosary and other prayers asking for intercession for those vulnerable to abortion and those caught up in its industry as well. Please contact Karen McCann with questions, to carpool, or for more information at karmccann@comcast.net or (612)

Isaac Huss, Communications Manager and Bulletin Editor 2nd Collection Retirement Fund for Religious (RFR) - December Next Weekend, Nativity will be participating in the annual national collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious (RFR). The Catholic bishops of the United States initiated the RFR in 1988 to address the profound lack of retirement funding among religious communities. Despite ongoing generosity to the annual collection, numerous communities continue to struggle to provide adequate care for their senior members. Financial distributions from the RFR offer supplemental support for bolstering retirement savings and for meeting such day-to-day needs as prescription medications and nursing care. As St. Paul reminds us, So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith (Gal 6:10). Online Giving New Online Giving Service Nativity has partnered with a new online giving service through ecatholic Payments which will allow for greater ease in online donations, as well as for the opportunity to receive other sorts of payments online. As a result of this changeover, we will be phasing out our previous online payment provider, Vanco Services, over the next twelve months. Those currently enrolled in online recurring payments through Vanco Services are asked to close their Vanco account and create a new recurring payment through ecatholic. Visit Parish.nativity-mn.org/online -giving to begin this process, and please contact the parish office at if you would like help. Thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this process. Note: Those enrolled in electronic payments through the parish office (instead of the website) do NOT need to make any changes, as the accounting office will handle the changeover for those accounts. If you would like to sign up for online giving, visit Parish.nativity-mn.org/online-giving to sign up securely using a checking account, credit card, or debit card. You can give one -time gifts or arrange a recurring monthly payment. You can also choose to give to the general (stewardship) fund or specify the Forward With Faith Capital Campaign or the Nativity School Scholarship Fund. This past Sunday, electronic gifts accounted for $14,646 or 35% of total stewardship gifts. 4 Archdiocese Prayer for a New Archbishop Good and Gracious God, giver of all good gifts, grant to this Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis an Archbishop who will unite us in our diversity and call forth those gifts with which you have so richly blessed this family of faith. May he be a Shepherd after your own heart, a faithful and merciful servant, whose gentleness will bring healing and comfort, and whose courage will inspire. May his life radiate the Joy of the Gospel and his unfailing confidence in your providential care lead us all to a renewed sense of trust. May he be a prayerful instrument of your grace in our lives, empowering us to live out our shared vocation as missionary disciples. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
