Proceeds will be donated to local families in need as well as the Down Syndrome Association of The Hudson Valley. Every parish in the Archdiocese of NY will have at least one priest hearing confessions during that time period. If that time period is not good for you, Fr. Woodruff is available at any time upon request. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will also take place on Saturday, December 23rd, from 3:00 until 4:30 P.M. in addition to every Saturday otherwise from 3:30 until 4:30 P.M. COOKIE WALK Will take place on Dec 2nd at the Atonement Lutheran Church from 10 to 3 PM. Snow date is Dec. 3rd from 12 to 3 PM. The cost is $9 per pound. Christmas Crafts, Treasures, and Kissing Balls. To order, please call INSTRUCTIONAL PRAYER MEETING- Will take place on Sunday, December 3rd at noon. The topic of discussion is Letters of St. John. Come learn more about your Catholic Faith. This discussion will be led by Fr. Bill. Question and Answer period to follow. MEMORY TREE- The Altar Rosary Society will be sponsoring a Christmas Memorial Tree. Each week stars will be hung that have been purchased at $1 per name of those close to our hearts. The Memory Tree box and envelopes are located near the tree at the rear of the church. A blessed Advent to all. Proceeds to benefit St. John s Fuel Fund. COMMUNITY BAND AND CHORUS CONCERT Will take place at the Reformed Church of Saugerties on December 10th. ALTAR ROSARY CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON Will be held at Mirabella s Restaurant on December 10th at 1 PM. Prepaid reservations are due by December 6th with your choice of one of the following: Eggplant Rollatini with Angel Hair and Vegetable, Broiled Salmon with Wild Rice and Vegetable; or Sliced Garlic Steak with Potato and Vegetable. All meals come with choice of House, Caesar or Mixed Green Salad. Family style appetizers and dessert platter will be included. 3 OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE My Dearest Brothers and Sisters in the Good God, As I wrote in last weekend s letter to you, this weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, November 25 th and 26 th, is the start of the second of two phases in Renew and Rebuild, the Parish Capital Campaign that Cardinal Dolan has asked all of our 293 parishes in the Archdiocese of New York to conduct. This is the weekend that we publicly announce Renew and Rebuild. It is most fitting that we do this on Thanksgiving Weekend because I want to thank all of you for being the most generous folks I have ever met. Further, I wish to express my great gratitude to the folks who have pledged to Renew and Rebuild. Next weekend, December 2 nd and 3 rd, will be for our parish Commitment Sunday. I will use the Homily time at all of the Holy Masses this weekend to explain how we hope to use the monies that are rebated to us on a quarterly basis starting around April 1 st of 2018 (74% of payments made to Renew and Rebuild) over the next five years for capital improvements to our Church building and our parking lot/driveway infrastructure. Please take home a copy of the bulletin this weekend because there should be an insert explaining about Renew and Rebuild. Commitment Weekend will be conducted in a similar way that the In-Pew or Commitment Sunday of the Cardinal s Appeal is done in the Spring and I will be happy to explain the process of Renew and Rebuild Commitment Weekend at the ADVENT PROGRAM Will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Esopus. FMI, call Lorraine at COLEMAN THEATRE PRESENTS- Musical memories: Return of The Alumni - Musical Theatre Highlights from We have been in contact with many, many of our alumni who are coming back to be a part of this production! The shows are Saturday, November 25th 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 26th at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for children under 12. We are offering a limited number of cushioned seats for $20 each. We will also be having a reception after the Saturday night show. Tickets for the reception are $25 which will include food and drinks. Call for reservations, PEGNANCY COUNSELING SERVICES- The Catholic Home Bureau Maternity Services Department provides free counseling to any client regardless of economic status who is faced with concerns arising from an unintended pregnancy. Staff offers ongoing support, help in securing pre-natal care, referrals for housing, WIC, budgeting, limited financial assistance, maternity clothing, infant care and parenting classes and discussion of all available parenting options. For those clients who seek adoption information, or are planning a private adoption, we provide counseling and education. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Widows and widowers are also welcomed. They also have available two people who work with those who are interested in restoring their marriage. FMI, call or JOKE A passenger train is creeping along, painfully slow. Finally, it creaks to a complete halt. A passenger sees a conductor walking by outside. What s going on? she yells out the window. Cow on the track! replies the conductor. Ten minutes later, the train resumes its slow pace. Within five minutes, however, it stops again. The woman sees the same conductor walking by again. She leans out the window and yells, What happened? Did we catch up with the cow again?

Send us Your Holy Spirit, to enlighten our minds and guide our actions as we plan for the future of parish life in this Archdiocese. Help us learn new ways to strengthen and revitalize our parish communities, and to be good stewards of the spiritual and material gifts that sustain them.
