4 Information Sunday, August 10 - September 21 Marble s Back School Drive provides important school supplies city agencies that serve children in need. These agencies offer shelter, provide academic assistance after-school programs. Last year, collected over 2,500 items that re distributed four NYC agencies dealing with homeless children teens: Icahn House East, Housing+Solutions, Single Parent Resource Center St. Luke s LGBTQ homeless population. There are over 23,200 children living in homeless shelters in NYC! Marble s Back School Drive is important because: One of the most devastating consequences of homelessness is the effect that it has on a child s education. A new backpack, filled with school supplies, provides the ols a child needs succeed in school. It also provides a confidence boost, helping each child feel more like their housed classmates. Please bring your donation the Action Volunteer Table on Sundays during Coffee Hour in the Marble Loft through September 21. IN MEMORIAM Mrs. Clarice Simpson died July 21, PRAYERS FOR PEACE RIBBONS Yellow ribbons on our fence represent US military casualties in Afghanistan. Ribbons honoring US casualties in Iraq are being prepped for an indoor installation. We have not forgotten those men women the sacrifices they have made. BILL LUTZ for his years of heartfelt ministry as he retires. Bill has been a pillar on our staff for years in many roles including Associate Minister Administrative Minister, worked with Pasral Care, Men s Ministry, 60+ Fellowship, Divorce Grief Recovery, Parenting classes, Marble Connection more. He also served on the Senior Minister Search Committee. His wonderful smile calming demeanor made him a staple among us as a spiritual leader compassionate pasr. While he retired a few years ago, he gladly ansred the call returned the ministry of which he is most passionate, pasral counseling. Bill his wife Judy hope travel, spend time with their two sons families (the grkids!) enjoy a full retirement this time. Bill, you will always be a part of us.
