6 You will be enriched in every way so you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:11 Thank you to those of you who joined us in-person or online last week on Stewardship Sunday, November 19, as we dedicated our pledge cards in Worship! Through Marble, we are called by Jesus to make the world a different place. One of the ways we do that is through our annual pledge. The commitment you make the pledge you offer is to be part of the process of growing, learning, worshiping, serving and giving together. As we begin 2018, if you have not yet done so, please reflect on how the Spirit has moved in your life at Marble, and consider joining over 600 regular givers who, by filling out a pledge card, let us know in advance their financial commitment for the year ahead. Thank you for being a part of Marble Collegiate Church and for supporting its mission and ministry with your prayers, presence and financial gifts! v v v Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ s) about Annual Giving What is a pledge? A pledge is a promise to give financially to support Marble s Mission and Ministries. Giving is both a spiritual commitment and an act of worship. It is not binding, but rather a conversation with God about what you can pledge to our shared ministry. Pray about your commitment, and seek God s guidance in this important decision. How do I make a pledge? You can pledge by filling out a pledge card (found in pew racks) and placing in offering plate. There is also a Giving Kiosk in the Marble Loft. Or, go to MarbleChurch.org and click on Give and 2018 Pledge Form. You can also contact Shana Wolfe, , ext. 248 or SWolfe@MarbleChurch.org for help in making a pledge and setting up a payment plan. How can I pay my pledge? You can contribute to your pledge via offering envelopes or setting up a monthly recurring credit card or bank auto-transfer. Or, you can use gifts of securities such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. Gifts of appreciated stock can offer a two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the security. Second, you receive a charitable contribution deduction for the full fair market value at the time of the gift. Please review these tax benefits with your tax adviser to determine specific benefits. I ve pledged in the past. Do I need to do it again? If you are an online pledger, we will automatically renew your recurring pledge unless you tell us otherwise. If you pledge via cash or check, you will continue to receive offering envelopes. For your security, we ask that you fill out a new pledge card (with current giving information) so we know your intentions for What do my pledge dollars actually do? Your pledge dollars mean so much to Marble Worship with glorious music and live streaming when you re away; Prayer Circle; Wednesday Worship; Adult Education opportunities; Children s Ministry; Small Groups (in-person and online); Caring Ministries; Mission Outreach; GIFTS: LGBTQ Fellowship; Women s or Men s Ministry, and so many more! Marble is a wonderful faith community who helps each other, people down the street and around the world. Come, be part of the vision for Marble 2018 Forward Strong.

7 Litany Christ the King Sunday is celebrated on this final Sunday before the beginning of Advent and the start of a new Church Year. Today marks the culmination of the Church s liturgical journey through the life of Christ. For the past twelve months we have followed in the footsteps of Jesus. In Advent we experienced watchful waiting and holy expectation, creating space for the coming Messiah to be born anew in us. At Christmas we sang with angels, adored with Magi, and rejoiced with shepherds in the birth of the Christ-child, Emmanuel, God-with-us. During Epiphany the season of Light we recounted the miraculous ways through which God was made known in Jesus Christ. Through the weeks of Lent we retraced Jesus three years of ministry, stopping to examine our life and humbling ourselves before the One who says to us gently, Draw closer to Me. During Holy Week we wept with Peter on the night Jesus was crucified, and then cried out joyfully on Easter morning, Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! Alleluia! On Pentecost we received anew the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, the Breath of God, Christ living in us. Jesus comes to us not as a conquering king, but as the Prince of Peace. He is the One whose reign proclaims peace, justice, liberation and, above all, service. The symbol of Christ s kingship is not a crown but a cross. Jesus, the Christ, we ask that you rule in our hearts. Help us follow You, trust You, and seek to please You in our living, our loving, our speaking, and our thinking. Lord, as we eagerly await Your triumphant return in glory, we pray for Your Kingdom to come here and now, bringing justice, hope, love, peace, and mercy to this earth. This we ask in the name of One whose name is above all other names, Christ Jesus our King, who forever sits at the right hand of God, and in whose name we are bold to pray: The Lord s Prayer (use debts ) MAJESTY Jack Hayford v v v 3 Maj - es- ty, wor-ship His maj - es- ty.
