6 We Welcome to Marble Ms. Teri Stinson, Principal, PS30 Hernandez/Hughes Elementary School We are pleased to announce today that this year s Easter Offering will, for the first time, support a new Marble Church Signature Mission one of a small number of new initiatives in which the Marble Community will invest both financially and as volunteers. Today, we announce our first Signature Mission, focusing on vulnerable children and their families. Through Marble s partnership with PS30, the Marble Community will make possible a Tutorial and Enrichment Program to boost the reading and math scores of 3rd graders. Marble tutors will become part of the support system for students dealing with the pressure of first-time exposure to state exams. Cultural and educational trips for students and their parents will reinforce learning through exposure to the wealth of cultural, educational, and civil service experiences of our city. Marble is proud to partner with PS30. In spite of its challenges generational poverty, many students for whom English is a second language, and a neighborhood with the highest level of incarceration in Harlem PS30 has assembled a team of highly trained teachers and specialists and now has steadily increasing reading scores, a growing menu of art and music programs, and an open access library and computer lab. We look forward to becoming a part of the village that is raising these children! Here s how the Easter Offering works: we take a special offering on Easter Sunday (or you can designate your offering anytime during Lent for the Easter Offering) and 100% of your offering (no overhead!) will be given to initiatives that feed the hungry, house the homeless, create opportunity for vulnerable children, and build bridges of understanding. Help us overflow the Easter Egg Thermometer! This year s goal is $225,000, $25,000 of which will support the PS30 Tutorial and Enrichment Project. We invite each of you to begin thinking about what you might give! Whether you can give $1, $25, $250, $1,500 or more, let s all join together to express God s love and make a difference in our neighborhood, city and world. The need is great, and working together, we can make a difference. We hope EVERYONE will participate. Dr. Michael B. Brown, Senior Minister 1 West 29th Street, New York, NY

7 Vision: We envision a world where we all become the individuals God created us to be. Mission: Marble Collegiate Church is a diverse, inclusive community of God s people led by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We inspire everyone to become positive thinkers who make a difference in the world. 1 West 29th Street, at Fifth Avenue, New York, NY MARBLE STAFF To staff directly, use First initiallast name@marblechurch.org.
