If you are interested in parish membership, it would be most helpful if you would call to make an appointment to register ( ). An appointment will guarantee the presence of a staff member to answer your questions and walk through a welcome packet with you. Baptism Preparation Children ages 6 and under: Those seeking to have children baptized should be registered, active members of St. Mary s Visitation Parish. Parents who request baptism for a child are expected to complete a preparation class. It is offered bi-monthly. The next class is: Saturday, April 2 nd from 10-11am in church It is generally easier if the preparation is done before the birth of the child. If you have attended a session within the last five years, it is not necessary to retake the class. Girl Scout Cookie Sale Girl Scouts from SMV will be selling cookies in the Church Atrium after all Masses the weekends of February 20 th & 21 st and February 27 th & 28 th. Several varieties are available. Cookies are $3.75/box and can be taken home immediately. Previously ordered cookies will also be available for pick-up. Thank you for your generosity and support! The Family Rosary will take place the 2 nd Sunday of every month at 5:00pm. Peter The Eucharist IV As I had mentioned a few weeks ago as we began looking at the Eucharist, I wanted to conclude our brief examination by including some of the wisdom of the saints which help us to understand more fully the great gift that is Christ present in the Eucharist as our minds and hearts enter into Lent this weekend, perhaps these reflections can be a source of prayer on the Eucharist over the course of this Lenten Season. Our Wellness Nurse, Claire Witek Our Wellness Nurse offers a wellness clinic twice monthly. Claire Witek is sponsored by St. Camillus Home Health Services and her services are complimentary to SMV parishioners. Some of the services provided include: Health Screenings (ie. blood pressure checks), Health Education, Medication Management, Community Resource Coordination, Flu Clinics and Health Related Presentations. Our wellness nurse is available on the 1st Monday of the month at 11am and the 3rd Monday of the month at 7am. 6 Liturgical Positions Share Your Time and Talent With St. Mary s Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, and Lectors for all Masses, but especially the 6:30am weekday Mass and 7:30am Sunday Mass. Sacristans, who open the church doors in the morning, set up Mass needs for the priests, and replenish candles as needed. Adult Servers who assist the priests at our funeral Masses. St. Ben s Meal Program St. Ben's is in need of volunteers to bake the ham and cheese casserole. We only do this every other month and you can sign up for one month or more. The parish provides the ham, cheese and pans, you provide the hash brown potatoes and half and half. The recipe is provided. Call Jean Kelly, or sign up on SignUp Genius. We ask that you follow a prayer format, share parish news and take a bulletin to those you are visiting. Homebound visits are a wonderful opportunity to cultivate friendships and share your faith in the Lord with others. You must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Adoration Chapel You can sign up to be a "regular" adorer with a designated hour weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, or you can sign up to serve as a substitute, to be called when a need arises.
