2 2 ST. MARY S VISITATION PARISH Baptism Preparation Children ages 6 and under: Those seeking to have children baptized should be registered, active members of St. Mary s Visitation Parish. Parents who request baptism for a child are expected to complete a preparation class. It is offered bi-monthly. The scheduled classes for this year are: Saturday, October 1 st from 10:30-11:30am in church Saturday, November 5 th from 10:30-11:30am in church It is generally easier if the preparation is done before the birth of the child. If you have attended a session within the last five years, it is not necessary to retake the class. The Sacrament of Matrimony The Catholic Church takes preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony very seriously. Generally at least 6 months should be allowed for this preparation. Engaged couples themselves should call the parish office to schedule an appointment to discuss their plans. Marriage can take place any day of the week, although Saturday is generally preferred by couples. Sunday weddings are possible, but a wedding Mass is not allowed for such occasions. Father Enrique was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in He was born and raised in Colombia. He attended Cristo Sacerdote Seminary in Colombia before he moved to Wisconsin. He studied English as a Second Language (ESL) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and then continued his priestly formation at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in Milwaukee and Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology in Hales Corners. Fr. Enrique was the Shared Associate Pastor at Saint Frances Cabrini and Immaculate Conception Parishes in West Bend until June of He is now the Vocation Promoter of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Associate Pastor at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Milwaukee. Eucharistic All Night Vigil of Reparation and Prayer September 30 The October Eucharistic All Night Vigil of Reparation and Prayer is being held at St. Mary s Visitation on Friday, September 30. Confessions will be from 7-8pm, a Vigil opening Mass begins at 8:00pm, followed by Exposition of The Blessed Sacrament all evening. Talks on the Vigil theme, rosaries and other devotions follow. The Vigil is open to the public, come spend one hour or stay all night if you can. These All Night Vigils began in September of 1965 to answer our Lady s call at Fatima, to pray and do penance for world peace and for the conversion of sinners. Adoration Chapel Jesus Himself said, Could you not watch one hour with me? He needs your presence in the St. Mary's Visitation Perpetual Adoration chapel. In order to have PERPETUAL adoration we MUST have at least one adorer in the Chapel at all times. Jesus is there 24/7. Couldn't you be there for one hour on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis? As you can see below, we need adorers particularly in the early morning hours. Could you find 3 or 4 family members and/or friends who could share one of these hours with you? Select an hour and have each one cover it once a month. Cook the main meal ~ SMV provides each cook with the ham, cheese and casserole pans for the meal. You provide the half and half, hash browns and baking time.
