2 If you are old enough to remember the 60 s song Turn, Turn, Turn by the Byrds - it was a song based on writings from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes. In a generation of restlessness, this song seemed to add to our attitude of what really matters anyway! Ecclesiastes 3 starts out reading 1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. This is credited to King Solomon. He would have reached an old age. He had lived of life of great wisdom, great wealth and then great failure in his relationship to God as he wandered from Jehovah. He sounds almost cynical as the book reads. Later is chapter 3 he writes, 9 What do people really get for all their hard work? 10 I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. 11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God s work from beginning to end. 12 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. 13 And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. Solomon does come to the conclusion that in all of life, God is central. He gives us so much life, work, pleasure. I think he desires for us to understand his blessings and to enjoy them. One of the blessings is indeed summer. It is the time of year when we can get out and enjoy nature and better weather. We can grow flowers and vegetables and enjoy seeing God s miracle of plants and yield! In summer we get away to different places to be recreated. We go to the lake, we go camping, we go to Cedar Point (well some of us do!), or maybe we go visit relatives. Remember in it all - these are gifts from God! Thank and praise him in it all. When you are home here come to church we need you! So may God bless your summer. Nichole Nordeman sings a song called Every Season. These are the ending words: So it is with You, and how You make me new, with every season s change, and so it will be as You are re-creating me, summer, autumn, winter, spring. God gives us seasons on the calendar and in our lives. Enjoy this season called summer with God in your mind and heart. Be re-created into a greater likeness of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Contact Jess Rowley Do You Use Hearing Aids? People with hearing loss often struggle to catch the words and softer sounds during the worship service. Our new Induction Loop System will work with the individual's t-coil equipped hearing aids. The sound is broadcast through a wire installed in the church. A small coil of wire in the hearing aid, called a t-coil, is the receiver. While the listener is located within the field created by the loop wire, the t-coil in the hearing aid will receive the signal from the loop. Individuals with any type and degree of hearing loss and any t-coil-equipped hearing aid can take advantage of this Loop technology. Background noise and echo are no longer a problem.
