1 APOSTOLICASSEMBLY.ORG UNITED EXPANDING THE KINGDOM LXII GENERAL CONVENTION
2 People of God, Praise the Lord. Welcome to our LXII (Sixty-second) General Convention! With much gratitude in our hearts, my family and I welcome you to our General Electoral Convention It seems like it was just Bishop John & Sis. Sara Fortino yesterday that I wrote these same words in November We are very happy to see you again as we unite from all parts of the country, and the world, to celebrate together our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What joy! Proverbs 21:31 says, A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory comes from the Lord. It is impossible to summarize in one sentence what has happened throughout these years, but in my opinion, this biblical statement is the one that comes closest to our reality and the one that best explains our experiences. For the glory of God, if we have come this far it is because God has given us the victory. We did what He asked us to do. We were obedient to His voice and let ourselves be guided by it. We have reached this point with victory as a sign of His power. Although we have faced many battles, God has helped us. Now we have to continue climbing, knowing that there is a bright future for the Apostolic Assembly. I feel very happy and satisfied with all the achievements we have accomplished. I am more than convinced that if this is so, it is because we have found grace before His eyes and God blessed us by giving us the victory. I have always believed that personal effort, accompanied with a clear vision, plus constant dedication and hard work, open the way for the hand of God to intervene in our tasks. In each of our battles, we have seen the hand of God in action; especially in those, where we could not find a way out. The only thing we did was go to battle with faith, not run away from it, trusting and waiting on Him. 2 UNITED EXPANDING THE KINGDOM LXII GENERAL CONVENTION 2018
3 APOSTOLICASSEMBLY.ORG Dear brothers, I am convinced that God loves this Church, and that the Apostolic Assembly is at the center of God s will and is destined to triumph. Otherwise, we could never explain these divine victories. In the most difficult battles, I felt the Lord so close to me that it was like He was fighting next to me, that he was there. That s why all the credit for the battles won is His, the glory is His, and all the applause is for Him. We are only soldiers who prepare the horse for battle; the victory was given by the Lord. This General Convention promises to be the most attended in our history. Everything is prepared for you to enjoy a week of conferences and activities for the whole family. All those who will be ministering in music and singing, as well as preachers and conference speakers, are also ready to minister to you. I recommend that you arrive early at each event so that you can participate with the rest of the brethren. The Apostolic Assembly is a Church that is in the heart of God. The men and women who paved this road did so with much prayer and tears leaving a very beautiful legacy to follow for all of us. Even more, they gave everything for this Church to flourish. Each District and Missionary Field has men and women in their history who stood out for loving the Church and sacrificing for it. Some already rest in the Lord, but their acts and deeds still remain with us. Let us be grateful and commit ourselves with the Lord to continue with that legacy and to raise the Apostolic flag with honor and love in any part of the world we find ourselves. Although our Church is predominantly Hispanic, God has surprised us, and now we can speak of a multicultural and multilingual Church. That is the way it should be, since the Church is a picture of what heaven will be. We have to expand our horizon and raise a flag in every state of the country, and on every continent. It seemed impossible a few years ago, but we are already seeing the fruit of the prayers of our patriarchs and the commitment and dedication of our generation. Once again, I firmly believe that this Church is destined to triumph, and despite all the blows it has received over the years, it remains standing, with joy in its heart, eager to continue expanding the Kingdom with power. God bless you and God bless the Apostolic Assembly. Fraternally, Bishop J. Fortino UNITED EXPANDING THE KINGDOM LXII GENERAL CONVENTION
