The design f the frt was made by Vidydhar. The frt was built as a residential place fr the king and ryal family. Later the frt was used t keep weapns. Jaigarh Frt under Meenas Histry als says that Jaigarh Frt is as ld as the Amer Frt. The frt was built by Meenas during their rule in Amer. Since they wrshipped Gddess Amba s they named the twn as Amer r Amber. Jaigarh Frt under Kachwahas Kachwahas tk ver the city f Amer frm Meenas and ruled during the Mughal perid and later. During the rule f Aurungzeb, the frt was given t Raja Jai Singh II wh renvated the frt. Raja Jai Singh als built the city f Jaipur which was his dream prject. During the rule f Shah Jahan, Dara Shikh lked after the wrk in the frt. When he was killed by his brther Aurungzeb, the frt came under Raja Jai Singh wh renvated the frt. During the rule f Akbar, Raja Maan Singh accepted t cme under Akbar s rule thrugh a treaty. It was stated in the treaty that the kingdm that Maan Singh will win will cme under Mughal rule and the treasure will belng t Maan Singh. He wn many places in Afghanistan and thers and gt a huge treasure which was kept in Jaigarh Frt. Jaigarh Frt is als knwn as Victry Frt as nbdy was able t capture the frt. 6

8 3. Jaigarh Frt Architecture Jaigarh Frt The walls f the frt are very thick and are made up f red sandstne. The length f the frt is 3km and the width is 1km. There are many structures built inside the frt which include Laxmi Vilas, Lalit Mandir, Aram Mandir, and Vilas Mandir. Besides all these, the frt has a beautiful garden which still exists. The largest cannn n wheels, knwn as Jaivana, is als there in the frt. Garden Jaigarh Frt has a square shaped garden which is spread in an area f 50m 2. The name f the garden is Charbagh as it is divided int fur equal parts. Each part f the garden has flwer beds cntaining different species f flwers. The garden is lcated in the curtyard f the frt. 15 Jaigarh Frt The frt was built by Sawai Jai Singh II in Sawai Ram Singh extended the frt in 1868 while Sawai Madh Singh built many palaces between 1883 and Jagat Shirmani Temple Jagat Shirmani Temple is situated in Amer where Meera Bai, Sri Krishna, and Lrd Vishnu are wrshipped. Queen Kankawati was the wife f Raja Man Singh I and she built this temple between 1599 and 1608 AD. The distance between the temple and Jaigarh Frt is 5.4km. 14
