1 Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins (WAP) Fcus Assciate Graduate & Faculty Ministries (GFM) Psitin Descriptin Supervised by: Natinal Directr, Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins Status: Exempt Lcatin: Natinal (nt-nsc) T advance the purpse f InterVarsity, this psitin will seek t advance Graduate & Faculty Ministries endeavr t equip wmen and men t be a redeeming influence fr wmen in the academy and prfessins. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Persnal Be a maturing disciple f Jesus Christ: grwing in lve fr Gd, Gd s Wrd, Gd s peple f every ethnicity and culture, and Gd s purpses in the wrld. Actively pursue each f GFM s Fur Cmmitments: Spiritual Frmatin, Cmmunity, Evangelism & Service, and Integratin f Faith, Learning, & Practice. Leadership Wmen in the Academy & Prfessin Ministry Assciate will functin as a member f the Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins team. Supervised by WAP Directr Take part in mnthly team calls and annual meeting(s) Advance the wrk f WAP wrk with staff, students and faculty n campuses represent WAP at varius events arund the cuntry supprt the wrk f The Well Primary fcus in ONE f the three areas (85% f wrk time) The Well Pursue and develp writers with regards t cntent, experience, vice, etc. Editrial prjects Represent The Well (WAP) at writers events, prfessinal cnferences, IVCF cnferences, etc. Develp and cnnect netwrks f writers t current editr and/r prjects Interview faculty and prfessinal wmen and pst at The Well. Special writing/prmtinal pieces needed at The Well r elsewhere Wrk with ther WAP Assciates (per directin by The Well Editr) t assist with prjects at The Well including, but nt limited t reaching under-served audiences and nline resurce develpment Take part in meetings with The Well team Cnnectin Cnnect IVCF Staff, students, faculty and the wider public t Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins and The Well thrugh scial media (65% f wrk time) Analyze current WAP scial media use and its efficacy (includes identifying current and ptential audiences and their use f/reachability thrugh varius scial media vehicles) Analyze ther scial media platfrms and their ptential t reach new audiences Initiate and/r maintain presence n and cmmunicatin by strategic scial media vehicles

2 Cnnect the ministry f The Well with under-served audiences (10% f wrk time) Wrk with editrs at The Well t reach under-served audiences, particularly thse identified in the current GFM strategic plan (ethnic minrity audiences and prfessinal student audiences) Wrk with editrs at The Well t identify ther audiences within the graduate student, prfessinal student and faculty cmmunities which are nt being reached (r reached minimally) Identify ptential writers wh wuld help us reach under-served audiences and wrk with editrs t determine ptential writers t pursue Wrk with editrs at The Well t identify ther avenues fr cntent (interviews, academic papers, etc.) fr The Well which will assist in cnnecting WAP with under-served/underrepresented audiences Cnnect GFM campus staff with the ministry f Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins (10 % f wrk time) Wrk with WAP directr t determine what is happening arund the cuntry with respect t ministry amng graduate/prfessinal student and faculty wmen Wrk with WAP directr t prvide tls at The Well fr staff desiring t serve wmen n their campuses by creating and maintaining a best practices cnversatin and prviding links t helpful resurces Wrk with WAP directr t determine places where direct interactin (training, caching, n-site visits etc.) wuld be mst effective and develp a plan fr implementatin Training & Prgramming Advance and strengthen the missin f Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins by develping and maintaining a regular Pdcast. (65% r wrk time) Perfrm regular investigatins int/analysis n current ppular pdcasts Determine and emply best practices fr prducing, publicizing and airing effective pdcasts Wrk with WAP team t identify ptential subjects and speakers fr pdcasts Slicit input frm WAP audience Develp netwrk f authrs, faculty, prfessinal wmen as ptential pdcast speakers/interviewees Wrk with WAP team t determine pdcast calendar Perfrm all duties required t prduce and deliver high quality pdcast n time Wrk with The Well team t pst and prmte pdcasts Perfrm regular evaluatin/analysis t determine reach, effectiveness, diversity f cntent/speakers, etc. Wrk with WAP Assciate (Cnnectin) t prmte pdcast thrugh scial media utlets Advance and strengthen the missin f Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins by develping and ffering pprtunities fr wmen t cnnect. 3 Advance and strengthen the missin f Wmen in the Academy & Prfessins by wrking n special prjects as determined and assigned by WAP Directr. (+/- 10% f wrk time) Administratin (5% f wrk time) Perfrm the necessary administrative tasks required t fulfill the purpse f InterVarsity and t cmply with InterVarsity s plicies and prcedures by: Cmplying with Risk Management plicies. Fllwing the budgeting and expense reprting guidelines as necessary. Fulfilling reprting requirements. Fund Develpment & Public Relatins (10% f wrk time) Develp a prayer and funding base by: Develping a prayer team t intercede fr this endeavr and fr neself. Seeking funding frm fundatins, churches, and individuals t cver persnal ministry expenses (travel, phne, etc.), and salary and benefits (if applicable) etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Annually affirm InterVarsity s Statement f Agreement A maturing disciple f the Lrd Jesus Christ Lve fr graduate students, faculty, and the university Cncern fr and understanding f the issues faced by wmen graduate students and faculty A clear sense f calling t InterVarsity and its missin Cmmitment t integratin f faith, vcatin, and academic life Ability t perfrm well as a self-starter and -maintainer Excellent written and ral cmmunicatin skills Strng interpersnal skills Ability t cntribute t pen and supprtive relatinships with team members Willingness t travel (minimally nce per year) Bachelr s degree required; graduate degree preferred

Within the cntext f InterVarsity s Purpse, all f the relatinships and tasks that staff members engage in as part f their wrk fr InterVarsity have bth eternal and tempral cmpnents. Maturing Disciple f Jesus Christ: Every InterVarsity staff member is t be a maturing disciple f the Lrd Jesus Christ, grwing in bedience t the Scriptures. The marks f a lng-term lve relatinship with Christ in the fullness f His Spirit are described in Galatians 5:22: The fruit f the Spirit is lve, jy, peace, patience, kindness, gdness, faithfulness, gentleness and self cntrl.
