1 CMA Run fr the Sn Prmtin Guidelines EXECUTIVE SUMMARY PURPOSE: FORMAT: The intent f this paper is t prvide CMA Canada members a guideline fr the prmtin f ur Run fr the Sn (RFTS) at member s churches, as well as a ne-n-ne basis with thers. This will prvide an pprtunity fr yur lcal church, friends and family t get invlved! Fllwing this Executive Summary are suggested speaking ntes members can use fr the prmtin f the Run fr the Sn initiative. Share Histry f CMA: (Hw it gt started) The Christian Mtrcyclists Assciatin (CMA) is a nn-prfit, interdenminatinal rganizatin dedicated t taking the Gspel f Jesus Christ in the highways and byways thrugh mtrcycling. Since its beginnings in the mid-70s, CMA has expanded t an internatinal ministry. The riginal brainstrm fr such an rganizatin ccurred in 1972 when Herb Shreve and his teenage sn purchased their first mtrcycles. It was nt until 1974 when the need fr a new rganizatin began t be realized. Herb attended his first mtrcycle rally and saw a massive crwd f mtrcyclists wh did nt knw Jesus Christ as their persnal Saviur. In fact, many had never heard the Gspel message. The realizatin f such a great need prmpted Herb t share his visin with a cuple f Christian friends. Tgether, they began t pray. Herb became mre and mre cnvinced that Gd wanted a Christian rganizatin dedicated t reaching mtrcyclists with the Gspel f Jesus Christ. In the Spring f 1975, he put actin t his prayers. An attrney was cntacted and a Nn-prfit Charter was applied fr and apprved. The waiting was ver. The CMA was brn. Share hw yu gt invlved: Very shrt persnal testimny. Share Histry f RFTS: Over the past 28 years (USA) and in Canada 23 years, CMA has been able t extend ur utreach t millins f peple thrughut the wrld by the fruits f the Run fr the Sn (RFTS). Thrugh financial cntributins t CMA wh share with fellw ministries, we have been able t place the message f hpe in frnt f the multitudes in hundreds f ther cuntries. In additin, RFTS has enabled CMA t equip the saints here in Canada, as well as wrldwide, t reach the lst with the salvatin message f Jesus Christ. The successful effrts f the past number f years have raised ver $40.7 millin t help spread the Gd News. The ttal raised in Canada since 1994 (23 years f hlding RFTS): $2.43 millin. Share hw much mney was raised in previus years: Run fr the Sn is ur nly fundraiser and it is split three ways: 20% fr transprtatin fr indigenus pastrs (thrugh Missinary Ventures f Canada).

2 20% t assist the church in restricted access cuntries with Bibles, study material (thrugh Open Drs - Brther Andrew). 20% t share the gspel message in remte areas f the wrld (thrugh the Jesus Film Prject) 40% fr evangelism in the biking cmmunity in Canada (thrugh CMA Canada). In 2015 we raised $128,468 In 2016 we raised $120,887 Nne f these funds are used fr CMA administratin. All f ur administratin csts are cvered thrugh the dnatins frm ur membership. In 2015: 1 mtrcycle t Peru These mtrcycles give the pastrs the pprtunity t spread the Gspel enrmusly cmpared t when they had t walk frm lcatin t lcatin. The Gspel expldes like a bmb when Gd prvides better transprtatin thrugh ur effrts. We dn t just give them the mtrcycles and leave them, we als prvide funds if majr repairs are required in the future. 78 bicycles in Cuba. Smetimes a bicycle is a better gift fr a pastr because f fuel csts, maintenance, etc. Apprximately 10,000 Bibles, tracts and ther training/teaching materials.
