2 ST. JOSEPH CHURCH PARISH EVENTS / ACTIVITIES POMFRET, MD Parish Office Closed on the 4th The Parish Office will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. There will be morning Mass at the regular time,. Ever thought about becoming an usher? New Usher Training: July 8th If you are interested in the Usher Ministry, please attend a training session on Sunday, July 8, beginning during the 12:30pm Mass and continuing after Mass until 2:00pm. All men and women of the parish, ages 17 and up, are eligible to be part of this ministry. You need not commit to serve every week and can serve at the mass time of your choice. Please call the parish office to sign up. Do you enjoy our weekly bulletin? Ever thought about helping to prepare it? Here s your opportunity...we are looking for someone willing to help prepare our bulletin when our usual bulletin volunteer is unavailable. This work is truly periodic and need not be a weekly commitment! If you know MS Publisher, that s great but not necessary. We can train you! And don t let your job stop you. Once trained and comfortable working with the bulletin, you may work from home. If interested, please call the office. Monthly Rosary Call Our Blessed Mother asks us to pray the Rosary. Please join the Washington Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW) to pray the Rosary on the 4th day of each month at 8pm. Youth Mass Starting in the Fall, we would like to offer a Youth Mass at the 4pm Mass on the second (2nd) Saturday of the month. We are looking for middle school and high school youth that are interested in learning and serving at these masses in a variety of areas: Readers, Youth Choir, Sacristan, Ushers, etc... Youth Ministry Team - Volunteers Needed We are looking for adults (18 and over) to assist with youth ministry (middle and high school) programming. No experience necessary, just the desire to work with our young people. You will need to submit an electronic background check and attend a session of Protecting God s Children, if you have not already done so. Benefits of membership are extended to those who have been registered for at least six months and who are actively participating in parish life and are known to the pastor. Pre-registration is required as well as prior parish registration of at least six(6) months. MARRIAGE Couples must make arrangements with the pastor at least six months prior to the proposed wedding date. No date can be guaranteed before meeting with the pastor.
