5 ANNOUNCEMENTS To Allen Jenkins: What a great teacher! I want to thank you for the wonderful experience I had in the Adult Vacation Bible School Class. Your preparation for our study and the participation of those attending your class made the book of Daniel become more for me than just a Book in the Old Testament. Thanks again, Verna Graff Glen Allen Baptist Church: Thank you for the generous graduation gift. I especially want to thank B. J. Crowder for organizing Graduation Sunday. I also want to thank the church family for the love and support that they have given me throughout my years here at GABC. Elderberries - will have a program called Christmas in July on Wednesday, July 8 at 11:30 a.m. - Am. Legion Post 244. Al Thompson will show us a video and explain how he decorates his house for Christmas. We will be serving hot dogs, beans, coleslaw and chips for lunch. Please come. Dr. Norman will continue with the Summer Bible Study Series on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30 7:20 p.m. The theme of this study will be: The Power of Prayer (Pt. 7). Everyone is encouraged to attend!

6 Pignic & Quarterly Business will be held at the Church on Wednesday, July 15. The Pignic (complimentary meal) will be at 5:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by the Quarterly Business Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. YOUTH NEWS Attention Mission Trip Parents & Youth Next Sunday, July 12 th, we will have a brief meeting after the worship service in the Fellowship Hall to discuss the Mission Trip that will be coming up the following week. It is imperative that you attend so that you can get all of the pertinent information for the trip! Kings Fest was a wonderful opportunity for several of our Youth last week. We had a group of 15 enjoy a day of fun and fellowship at Kings Dominion. In the evening we had the pleasure of hearing some wonderful testimonies and music by Love & The Outcome, Building 429, For King & Country, and Matthew West. We had many opportunities to pray, fellowship, and to feel God s presence that day. A big thank you to Allen Jenkins and Julia Crowder for chaperoning. On Wednesday, July 8 th, the Youth will enjoy a night out at Bogey s Sports Park to play putt putt, hit in the batting cages, etc. Please let

7 B.J. know by TODAY if you are interested in participating! As always, we are looking for chaperones if you are interested in chaperoning this event, please let B.J. know. Our TOP Senior Ministry has really hit the ground running. Last month we had about 20 senior citizens come through and fellowship with us, play games, and pray. When we began this ministry, we only had 4 or 5 senior citizens pass through. We are excited to be returning to Shockoe Bottom Apartments on Sunday, July 12 th. Come out and join us for a great afternoon of fun and fellowship. I promise that you will get as much out of the experience as the senior citizens do! Please let B.J. or Allen know if you can attend. The Youth will be heading to their Summer Mission Trip in Morehead City, NC on July 19 th. We will leave Sunday morning and return on Friday, July 24 th. We have a group of 17 headed up and are excited about the opportunity we have to help others in need and to spread HIS word. A big thank you to all of those who have already helped with this trip in various capacities. Please keep the group in your prayers during the week we are there.
