Listen to the music, the wind singing through the trees, the excitement of children, the crackling of the fire, the carols, the bells in the steeple. Come see the lights, the lights of the church, the light from the candles, all to worship the Light of the World, God s own Son. The child is born! Let us worship Christ the Lord! The fourth candle is the Candle of Love. It was because of God the Father s love that He sent His only begotten Son. Because of His coming and His love, we know His salvation. The Reading of the Advent Scripture Luke 2:15-21 Light the fourth Advent candle The Candle of Love Nothing makes sense without love. It transforms justice to compassion, interest to concern, wisdom to understanding. It lasts when all else fails. God of love, God who incarnated love in your Son, help us to love, even as You have loved.

YOUTH NEWS Last Saturday, the Youth Group had a Christmas get together at B.J. & Julia s for dinner and then headed to the Live Broadus Memorial Baptist Church. They put on quite the production. Afterwards, chatting with the gentleman who played Isaiah...he mentioned that they have over 250 folks involved, including 150 actors. He also mentioned that the ages of actors ranged from 2 all the way to 83. It was an awesome experience. We had a group of 26 head out and were able to witness a depiction of Jesus

6 from 700 years prior to his birth all the way up to his resurrection and current day. A big thank you to all of those who helped (Charlie & Denise Martin, Debbie & Ross Bretches, Corinne Abernathy, Julia Crowder, Allen & Suzanne Jenkins, and Tim & Laura Cooper). Also a big thanks to Debbie Bretches for bringing appetizers and Denise Martin for bringing dessert! TOP for this afternoon has been cancelled. Unfortunately, the city of Richmond has closed Monroe Park to the public for renovation. The area TOP Directors are currently looking for alternate plans as we move forward. Thank you for your understanding and thank you to all of those who volunteered to help out this week. December 16 th will be the Santa Supper in the Fellowship Hall there will be no Youth Group that evening. Mark your calendars it is never too early to hear information regarding the annual YOUTH YARD SALE & BBQ! March 19 th will be the date! It is that time of year when many of you are looking to clean out. You may start bringing in items at any time and putting them in the room directly beside the Youth Sunday School room upstairs.
