While this week makes a great impact in the lives of our teens each year, the ministry of Passport reaches much farther than a one week-long mission camp for teens. As our teens return, Passport is just getting started on the summer schedule including over 30 camps and trips around the country for students beginning in 3 rd Grade. Elementary students are taught about missions through hands-on interactive training in their camp environment at PASSPORT kids. PASSPORT missions and PASSPORT choices are camps for middle and high schoolers that include more

3 opportunities to put training into practice through service. Passport s Mission BASE mission trips take students into large city environments allowing for an immersive experience into the culture and realities of communities such as Birmingham, Atlanta, Memphis, and Washington D.C. Passport also has a global impact through their project, Watering Malawi, which seeks to provide access to clean water, sanitation, and irrigation systems for rural communities in Malawi. Please be in prayer for the impact of this ministry as they continue their work through the month of July and into August. West ANNOUNCEMENTS CONGRATULATIONS TO Katelyn Rockeman Luck and Kerry Luck on the birth of a daughter, Charlotte Jane, who was born on Monday, July 23, She weighs 7 lbs.1 oz. and is 20 inches long. Grandma and Grandpa are Valerie and Jeff Rockeman and Benita Rockeman is the Great Grandma. The rose on the pulpit is in her honor. GABC will be offering a "church-wide" trip to Washington DC to tour the new Museum of the Bible on Friday, August 17, This trip will be on a first come, first serve basis; we only have 39 spots available! The cost will be approximately $45 a person based on full occupancy. This would include the cost of the bus and the suggested $12 donation for the museum. We would leave the church at 8:00 AM. The plan would be to have lunch and tour the museum for approximately 3-4 hours and arrive back in Richmond between 6-7 PM. A big thanks to Matt Davidson and Al Thompson with their help in coordinating this event. DONATIONS FOR LESLIE AND HAZEL WATSON OFFERING - Thank you for your donations to the Watson offering, which helps support programs of Dover Baptist Association. This year during our two-month emphasis (May and June) $372 was contributed. Please feel free to continue giving to help us reach our $650 goal although our emphasis on this offering has ended. Blue envelopes are in pew racks throughout the sanctuary. Thank you again for the donations received. Missions Committee Youth News The Youth will be headed out to the Diamond on Thursday, August 9 th, as the Flying Squirrels take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for Faith Night. Hear player testimonies and celebrate Worship Music throughout the night. In addition, Tim Tebow, former NFL player and University of Florida football star is currently on the Binghamton roster and should be playing that night. Come out and join the fun. NOTES FROM THE PAST Glen Allen My Community, Part 4: The records of Henrico County show that on May 2, 1713 William Sheppard and Robert Baker were granted 400 acres in the County of Henrico on the Southside of the main branch of the Chickahominy Swamp for importing certain persons. This is believed to be the Manghan Farm together with that now owned by E. C. Creery, the farm of Mrs. Greenhow Johnston, and Meadow Farm, now owned by Colonel Sheppard Crump. The date of these houses are not known. The Manghan Farm is probably the oldest house in this neighborhood. This quaint house with its antique furniture, the old boxwood of unusual size, and the old Indian Spring are well worth seeing.
