6 Our Parent/Child Dedication will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 (Mother s Day) at the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service. LUNCH A MONTH BUNCH: The luncheon for all ladies in GABC will be at Debbie s Kitchen Tuesday April 18 at 1:00 pm. If you have questions please call Chris Rogers ( ) home/ cell ) or Joyce Hall ( ). Remember all are welcome. It is a great way to get to know each other better. We need to make reservations on Monday April 17 before noon. Chris Rogers Church Family Night Dinner and Program will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 5:45 p.m. We will have our Quarterly Business Meeting after dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Sunday, April 30- GABC Pre-K Music & Art Show - The church family is invited along with the Pre-K families for a

7 Lunch Fundraiser immediately after the church service in the fellowship hall. Preschool art work will be displayed in the welcome center. A silent auction will take place after lunch. YOUTH NEWS Menus for March & April /20 Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Biscuits, Salad Bar, Dessert; Kids: Chicken Legs, Mac & Cheese, Vegetable, Fruit 4/27 Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Salad Bar, Dessert; Kids: Same. Attention Parents of Graduating Seniors it is that important time of year where we begin to gather information for our graduating seniors. If you are a parent of a graduating senior, please give me the following information no later than May 14. Child's name, high school graduating from, plans for next year, and pictures of your child for the slide show. If you have a college graduate, please let me know the name, college graduating from, degree earned, and one picture. This is always a special service at Glen Allen and we look forward to celebrating the special day with you. We will celebrate our graduates the morning of June 11 th with our annual Graduate Breakfast followed by celebrating each and every one of them in a personal way during our Worship Service. For this year, we are asking that each graduate wear their high school gown (no cap). Thanks so much. BJ

8 Next Sunday, April 23 rd, we will have a group go to Clay Park for TOP. When we went to Clay Park in February, we had a great showing of Youth and Adults. We made some new friends and had a chance to pray with/for many. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall directly following the service. The weekend of April 29 th and 30 th, some of the high school youth will be going to Lancaster, PA for the weekend. We will tour Amish Country and also see the play Jonah at the Sight and Sound Theatre. In addition, we will conclude our weekend, by attending Worship Service at Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church before heading back to GABC. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the Youth Yard Sale & BBQ. This has turned into a huge annual event for our church and it continues to grow each and every year. The youth and I are so blessed and gracious for all of the time, effort, and prayer that goes into pulling this off each and every year. This year we raised over $7,600 and have raised well over $20,000 towards Youth Missions in the last three years. This money goes towards our summer mission trips and other mission activities throughout the year. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. GABC Youth Group & B.J. Save the dates. VBS 2017 God's backyard camping is coming Sunday July 23- Thursday July 27 5:30p-8:15p. We are in. need of volunteers for teaching decorating helping and running stations. April is Prevent Child Abuse Month and the Exchange Club of Henrico and Men s Open Door Class will be doing a benefit

9 BBQ on Saturday, April 22 at Glen Allen Market. 11:00a-2:00p (or all BBQ sold). Proceeds benefit prevent child abuse programs in Central Virginia. Also featured is a display of 48 pinwheels in memory of the 48 Virginia children who died from neglect or abuse in 2015 (last year for official statistics). Flyers available in the Welcome Center with details. WEDNESDAY NIGHT COOK(S) NEEDED - Our great Wednesday Night Cooks (Cheryl Ender and Tammy Donahay) have decided it is time to hang up their aprons on a fulltime basis after our annual Church Pignic this summer. However, Cheryl and Tammy are willing to continue cooking one Wednesday night each month if other individuals (or teams) would like to be part of this rewarding ministry (either part time or full time). Please call Janet Melton at if you (or someone you know) would like to know more about the duties and pay for the position. Some items are still on our shelf since we are way into April. I hope I am able to express how wonderful this is and how greatly appreciated you are whether you carry in one can/box of cereal or bags/trays of
